Tyres are not going to be "rooted" after this day.Tyre wear is very low on RX8's on the track[from experience].Don't be put off by this thought from tracking your car.Ditto for brakes.
A standard RX8 is ideal for track use,with no mods whatsoever,trust me.

The only wear on your tyre is going to be the front right tyre. So have the best one there!

Well I thought there are so many right turns... the outside tyres are going to suffer. After the Sandown day. My left front worn out the most, thanking to the first turn which is highspeed left, off camber and downhill. Maybe there is none of that at Wakefield

The loaded side of the car takes the wear,at Wakefield that's the left side.However Wakefield is relatively low speed,no wear problems one way or the other.

On that note,

Is it bad to use the tyre pump in the boot that comes with the can of GooP?

let alone rotating them.

I have a impact wrench and a big wrench if you don't mind me using.... :D

In term of the emergency pump, I will use it if I can plug into your cigarette lighter

It is a good excercise to change all 4 tyres, believe me.

I guess the thing that prompted my comment on the tyres was the sound of that Nissan driver screeching around every single corner!!

Now after what I have seen from other thread I have to seriously make this announcment.

Copy and paste from other threads.

In a dragstrip you might have a chance, Wakefield is a driver's and suspension track. If you made a bad turn you can lose seconds.... just hold on your cockiness until after the track day please . You will not be the most experience trackie there and I hope you enjoy the track and have a straight car home. There is no place being first there.....

Can I stress again whoever wants to race/ have any side bets of who is the fastest on the Wakefield Park, I suggest them do not brother to come. I don't want any bad behaviour and resulted in any punch up on the race track. Having a suspecious lower arm is bad enough for the car, let alone racing and outbraking each other.

Sure where do you live??
What i would do is put your lug wrench in the the nut. support the wrench where it bends 90 deg then use a really really long pole over the wrench as leverage.
Guaranteed to get any nut/bolt loose if it's not seized/welded

and even if it is...... :D .

I have an old piece of circa 1950 Hills Hoist that I use over the top of my breaker bar :p . I have had to unleash it a few times to loosen wheel nuts that some moonunit has gone to town on with the rattle gun......

WOOHOO!! :D :D :D :D

Managed to clear the diary - I can now go to the Nats.

"Gunna see the circus, gunna see the circus, gunna see the circus!! Yeehah!"

<backflips around the room>

<realises he's an adult again>

Ahem, um, sorry about that but you don't know what I've had to do to extricate myself from various commitments.

Whoever the NSW co-ordinator is can put me on the list.

Damn, I thought everybody would have forgotten about my brief inglorious reign as NSW co-ordinator.

Timbo has already PMed me to get back into the fray.

Surely you would all prefer one of the old hands to do it? :o
