I'm scheduled to take my 05 w/ 32,000 miles in to have the OEM mounts updated with the new ones. I was told there was an upgraded mount.
I've been experencing increased vibrations but am not 100% sure the mount has failed. I'll follow up once it's been replaced.

Honestly, I dont see why it should be Oz only. As the case being put forward is with consumer affairs (who only have state jurisdiction) then what does it matter if its Oz or worldwide? the more proof of problem the better I say.
for PETE's SAKE, how about anyone post and i will decided if i want to use their example. I am looking for anyone in AUSTRALIA who has had the problem as the issue i have is with MAZDA AUSTRALIA. Consumer Affairs, although a state authority, are looking at the whole picture. Keep the examples flowing. Thanks guys
I don't know man, most people are still under warranty so you're probably not going to find anyone who'll be willing to do it for you. Unless you can find someone with a car over 3 years old who's had it done after the 3 year warranty do you have any substantiation to make a claim. At the end of the day it's the risk you take when buying a used car.
But like I've said before, good luck with it! You'll need it!

What you need is all RHD cars. Go to the UK forum.
I did not mention how swoope drives that makes every thing in the car
the exhaust and the failing mount are in the same place in all markets... not only is there a new improved mount.. also a different bracket with a heat shield.
taka, i drive like a little school girl.. i just have bad luck.
beers
OK My argument is this. Lets "pretend" it was the clamps that held fuel lines on the fuel tank. After 4 years these start to let go. There is going to be a recall (as has been shown on other vehicles), but in my eyes, they are only doing it as they would get the pants sued off them WHEN that issue leads to an explosion.
Dont get me wrong I am not saying they shouldnt do this but why should it be the case only when there is immediate safety concerns? why not when there is a flaw in design as is the obvious case here?

I know the mount is on the same place. But the master cylinder and the driver's fat *** is not. They may use that as an argument haha
No problems here. I have traveled 53 000km. My warranty expired last October. I asked the dealer to look at the possibility of changing the engine mount however, an inspection did not reveal any defect.
I have done several track days over the last few years as well. Maybe I am just lucky or a broken mount may be just around the corner.
skc

Mine were done under warranty December 2006, just before i was about to drive to Sydney for christmas - and wow what a difference. The mechanic at Mazda that changed them said "they were F***ed" and now they aren't
