Australian RX8 Club
I preordered yesterday as City Mazda told me there were only 3 left. I expect my car in Nov.
Are we going to have a RX8 club in Melbourne to go cruising and stuff?
Second question. Mazda is organising a test drive day in July... they are thinking of Sandown. What do you think we should compare our car and RX8 on the track. I think they just let us to drive in the car park only.
I really want to compare the 8 with my DC2

re club - yep that's a good idea. No need to incorporate as long as we don't call it a club.
Does anyone else want to take their on the track????
re drive days I'm 99% sure they'll let us out on the track but they'll also prolly say that a limit of 110kmh applies - VW did this last year at Calder (shut now - but was a crap track anyway).
Sandown is fun - long straights and some good twisty bits in-between.
What's a DC2???
There won't be a comparo car there, but if you've driven on a track before you should know what feels good and what doesn't.

I think they limit it to 110km/h thinking of the same - but it will still be fun turning corners and stuff
What's a DC2???

Extinguisher $50
Helmet $500 for an OK one
Bonnet Tie Down $4 for a climbing clip and a piece of heavy rope.
Now! That's not that expensive is it???
What do I call the 8???
Not sure, I'm thinking about calling mine Maria.

Black-8, welcome
We in Melbourne are fairly active in our gatherings. The guys love to organise track events, which is not competitive but more of a fun gathering where they can test their limits aswell. We have a few get togethers aswell, as social.
You are more then welcome to come on Sunday
By looks of it we'll be postponing the GOR run, and catching up for Brunch locally, so those who could not commit the whole day can still come and catch up.
I'll be posting details later on.
It would be great on SUnday if we can meet you, aswell as show off your new baby ur picking up on friday
Ta, Kall

He walked in and said cbf waitin months and they gave him 1 few days later hehehe
Great knowing people instead of claiming you do and when the people who know them ask them about you.. they are like "whoz that "

I could have the car in Sept - but I want my car in the right colour and to from Hiroshima to the ship and to the dealer door within 10km... that is why I waited until Oct 30. Odo at the time 5km - the preorder guy not even get to drive it.
Ans to your question kunz... Gibbo has the earliest RX-8. A yellow one issue June 03.
Right Gibbo?

mine had 3kms when I first start test driving it. I'm expecting around 6kms on pick up. Anything higher means the dealer gives the car to others for test drive

I would love the RS4 and it was high on the list till the $168k price tag.....the M3 was a goer until the announcement of the V8 in 2008, the Z4 M Coupe is still hot in my books but having trouble convincing the wife a 2 seater is a good idea with 2 kids.
Hence the 335i might be the goods. September will tell when the test drives are booked.
Or as menioted FI for the 8 (However that is unlikely)
