Threw, I'd be very interested once it had a plug and play connector. For me If I ever have any problems, I want to be able to take it right out, go to the dealer and get whatever fixed. Without some load of BS from the Dealer claiming it's my aftermarket parts.

2 questions :

1. With the AVElectronics box, I then need another solution to actually say, play a DVD? I would need a PS2/Xbox, attach it to the AV box, and independently power it somehow?

2. Any way we could get some type of clean install of the remote...or something a bit different? I know I'm being picky, but maybe something integrated like you have on the V1 radar detector would be nice.

I thought the AVElectronics box had a TV Tuner built in?

the old av box had a tv tuner built in...the new one does not but it does have independent video switching...ie you can have one screen displaying a dvd player another an xbox, another the navigations, etc...although you can get a sweet DVD player with tv tuner for really cheap

I bet thew will carry one...I'm playing on having a dvdplayerw/tv tuner and a modded xbox that way a movie or xbox can be on one screen and when I add another screen a dvd can be playing or tv tuner

Ahh, that kinda sucks actually. Cause it's a small car so I really have no desire to get more screens. Just the one will do. This messes with my plans a bit of just getting the Av box and XBox going and having tv/dvd/mp3/games all available.

Cause a dvd player is kind of redundant if you have the xbox dvd player already.

Oh well I guess.

But the Blapunkt me3 dvd unit has tv tuner built in .. and i am going to sell one like it that comes with a t.v. tuner. Or.. I will sell you my own personall AV box that has the t.v. tuner and get myself the new one

also let me ask them if they still have any of the older units.

Ohh.. and i can sell you a standalone t.v. tuner box to.. so that your Xbox can be your dvd player and then you can just switch to the T.V tuner..

Well, please don't do it just for me. I know I can live with an external tuner/dvd player if the one that came with it truely sucks.

I'm sure everyone else would agree.

I still have to actually get the car and scope things out. Should be in about 1 month after I finishing moving.

I'll still be in your 'hood though, so I will more than likely be purchasing from you.

Exclamation

NP.. if they have one with t.v. i have a few clients that still want that unit.. But I still think the T.V in the car is kind of a wast.. But ill get you what you need when your ready.

Update I just got word. They Do not have the older unit like mine with the T.V. They replaced that with a DVD,T.V,MP3 Single disk unit. ..

So now we know.

As soon as you get this unit to be plug and play, I will buy it. However, I am fairly (ok, very) car illiterate. How difficult would it be to wire a DVD/Xbox (or the AV box for that matter) to get power to them?

its easy. IF you buy it from me i will talk you through it on the phone, via chat. or however you like. The best power source is the Acc plug in your Rear console. so thats very easy.
and infact the 4 wire cut and solder is as well.. but I am working on that harrness every day

Ok, heres the deal... I have the earlier version with the TV tuner, and I dont use it that much. I would rather have the S-Video version. I bought mine from AVelectronics earlier this year, for $525. I know Thew is selling his for less, however, I cant afford to lose anything. So here is what we would do. You buy thews video switcher. Then you would send me your main unit. Keep all the wires, remote, all that stuff... Ill send you my unit in return. It works perfectly, and as a matter of fact its the one featured in most of the RX8 gallery pics for the RX-8 Media Center. PM me if you are interested.

OK, you have another customer. Glad your back by the way Your system is on my ever-expanding mod list. I have been busy lately once again customizing my ride. I will purchase the S-Video unit with your harness when you have it ready. Where will you post this availibility? In this thread? Or, on your website?
