After seeing the butcher job someone did on my car to try and solve this exact problem, I'd love to be able to move everything back to where it belongs with a decent mod.

Got info...

http://www.feast-power.com/rsf/parts/rx8_audiokit.htm

Feast Power

A quick read tells me that "for quality" reasons they build the faceplate out of your stock one. They can do a "core" thing... pay an additional 60,000 yen up front, they'll build and ship you the faceplate. After that you ship them yours and they refund the 60,000 yen.

RX - Audio of 8 has become the air conditioner and gearing, when it tries to do audio exchange, the air conditioner stops operating. Then, at this corporation the substance was disassembled, audio exchange in a state where necessary function everything it is utilized was made possible.
Being genuine, it is the volt/bolt on installing kit of the one off making which puts the function which is utilized, in a state where almost everything it can operate, includes the panel. Because it is not possible to lower the quality of the product itself, with handmade of the craftsman because of one off job, after order receiving, about approximately 1 - 2 it is weeksnecessary in payment date, but certainly, being satisfied you think as the thing which can transfer the commodity which it can receive.

* Because the genuine basis considerably is large amount, being to do basically with normal trade-in, acknowledgement you ask.

Correspondence was verified to 6/20 genuine Nabis! !

Sound such as genuine Nabi's sound and television sound enters into sort until now. Just 2 divide wiring processing and 込 increase processing is necessary. Concerning the sound of the television, being external input function in the audio which is installed, verification.

* Audio kit description

‡@ genuine audio imitation audio, Nabi, such as DVD to modify it is possible in the system of 2DIN 1DIN × 2 size. Combination the user being free, can recommend also the choices widely. (Installing with the ALL coupler ON)

When ‡A you remove, you cannot use and to use sort, without many problems until now it can do the air conditioner which becomes. (Beep sound at the time of air conditioner operation is gone)

There is on a ‡B dash top, information display excludes genuine audio indication, (the same as the state of audio OFF) function of sort is displayed until now. (Clock air conditioner temperature ope air temperature and so on)

About the ‡C switching BOX.
The time setting switch of the clock being installed, operation is possible.
BOSE equipped (ON of BOSE AUDIO PILOT/OFF) it changes to the car and the switch is installed. (It does not correspond to ALC of the control vehicle)
Ope air temperature (AMB) selector it can equip the switch, at information display can verify indication.

Because it is extended from the basis, present length thinks the length of the ‡D cable longest. In addition, by the fact that the sealed graounding cable is used, noise from outside and, operation abnormality and lag the maximum have been reduced. (As for installation suicide seat frontal = reference)

The ‡E front panel in order to increase product quality, being able to meet, one turning off processing the genuine panel has put out one bodily sensation. The panel is the genuine piano black equal black paint which is glossy. Paint is OK with anything (concerning other color)

AVIC-N2 is better

But hmm, like 600+ bucks just for the faceplate and stuff is kinda lot.

Its nice but, I prefer to have easier setups than having some extra boxes around the already small interior.

oh yeah that's a lot of money...and then you have to buy the receiver...or touch screen. That stuff can start to add up...but it would be nice to have though...do you know if you actually have to send your radio to them?

The Japanese site saids no.

Just need to send them the faceplate (I think, as far as my limited japanese knownlege can tell)

but they're in Japan and I wonder how is that going to work ...

Ahh, just wait for Mazdaparts to figure something much easier. (And cheaper, if possible)

thew could always get one and then make a copy/reverse engineer it.

For those who don't want the box (if you don't have navi it'll probably fit in that dash space)... figure out what metra did with the Mazda6.

As I mentioned you don't have to intially send them your faceplate (only), they do a "core" service like with engines and transmissions. Pay an extra 60,000 yen (the cost of a faceplate)... this is inaddition to the 80,000+ yen... and they will ship you a finished product. If you then ship them your faceplate they will refund your 60,000 yen.

I honestly think my idea is not a bad one, espeically if thew or someone he knows is an electrical engineer. Get a metra kit for the mazda6 and get this kit (study both methods). Reverse engineer them and make your own kit to sell.

I agree with you.

Sigh, I dont have that much time to do that ...

So I will leave it to someone else, and I hope that will happen soon. :-)

How many people are interested in after market Radio replacement for the OEM unit.
And after market double din deck could be put in. Not easily but it can be done. I currently work at www.customsounds.com so i do a little more custom work that your average installer ( ok a lot) You have to take off the dash unit that surrounds the cd player and the ac *****. Now if you decide on proceeding on to a new amp and speakers I highly suggest you un hook the batter and wait 10 minutes before you start to meter out wires. This is for the 8 airbags and u do not want to see the bill or the dmg one can do if u have one go off. They are usually lined in yellow film.

You removed the snap on face plate that covers everything. Unhook the ac controls and everything else. Then u make a cardboard layout of the deck you will be installing and holes for your other controls.. a/c and so on. Now you go on to 1/2 or 1/4" wood and make your kit from that. I reccommend 1/4". You can buy vinal from appolstry stores or sometimes fabric stores to match what u have. Line your deck in this to get the custom yet smooth look.

Take your time if you attempt this. Its not somethin u can learn over night but it is how it can be done. If you have any questions on ohm's amps or what not just feel free to email me or ask me on here.

I personally am leaving the factory system in for now. And probably wont replace it for a long while.

Plz disregard my crappy spelling and lazy typing.

this project as an inhouse project has not progressed

instead we have been persuading, through an influential contact, 3 major automotive electronic companies to produce the unit...we would not have an exclusive on the item anymore but atleast the RX-8 community will hopefully benefit
