ride height comparison

Who can measure the stock ride height?

Measure from center of wheel to top of fender opening (as per the service manual). (Not from the ground).

I installed my Koni Sport yellow shocks with Tein S-tech springs, and my ride height (after alignment and settling) is:

front: 13 1/2"
rear: 13 5/8"

With Koni Sports and S-techs, my car rides lower than an RX-8 with S-techs and stock shocks (compare this on stockers vs mine on Konis. also side-by-side).

Unfortunately I didn't measure my stock ride height before the install! So I am curious to compare to stock cars and perhaps anyone else with similar setups. (Measure from center of wheel to top of fender opening).

(btw, my clearance is now 4.75" at front lip, and at front mudflap is 3")

14.75" front and rear on a 2007 sport

My understanding is that they come from the factory between 14.5 and 15.5" at random. Measurements of several cars before I bought this one were between 14.75 and 15.25"

the OE shocks are high pressure monotube, the Koni shocks are low pressure double-tube, the ride height difference is due to the difference in gas pressure

Thanks!

Can anyone measure a 2004 or a 2005? It seems that the 2007s have even fender gap, whereas the earlier ones (at least mine 2005) was definitely higher in the front than the rear.

TeamRX8, I thought it was due to the shocks. Thanks for the explanation!

i love your setup. i gotta ask about the ride quality, like how well does the car take to crossing railroad tracks?

I presently have rear shocks at half turn up from full soft and front shocks at 3/4 turn up from full soft. The ride is still surprisingly comfortable. It follows the bumps much faster, but I find harsh bumps like railroad tracks aren't really any worse, maybe a little worse.

In fact, I want to turn up the stiffness more because I still have plenty of comfort left and I want to see what it's like when I make things stiffer.
