tranny problems

first off i have a 2005 Rx8
with 48K miles on the odo..

problem began earlier today whne i picked up my little cousins from school...

Second gear would rattle BAD like marble in a aluminum can..

only in second gear.. nto in first nor third.

as the day progressed i stopped at home and decided to drive to my friends shop so he can tak ea look at it..

didnt make it.. now it wouldnt let me shift into any gears! now i only have 1st, 2nd which RATTLES really bad.. and 5th gear...

3rd and 4th wont even go in..

the only mods that i have are Sr motorsport Flywheel and ACT Hd clutch..

any suggestions would be helpful..

Tonight i am pulling the transmission and putting the stock flywheel back on and the stock clutch and see if it fixes the issue. and check everything else..

so i can take to dealership..

would it coid my warranty if i took it in with the aftermarket flywheel installed?

you installed an aftermarket clutch and flywheel - from the sounds of it in your driveway?? - and now you are having problems shifting.

I would say they will give you a hard time.

but don't expect them not to catch on to the fact the trans has been out of the car if you take it in with the factory equipment re-installed either.

good luck.

well you can try to put everything back and bring it to dealership. if its a "good dealership", there could be a chance that they will just check and fix it for you under warranty (if u have 1)

but it sounds like either ur clutch pedal is going, or ur tranny's dead.

put it back, rub some dirt on it, all over the screws/bolts everything, bring it in.

how long has the flywheel and clutch been in? could be the clutch pedal failure. but it also could be a ppf alignment issue.

beers

No the flywheel was installed at my friends uncles shop..

but i did see.. soo technically he did it.. but we checked it out and saw the possibilities..

If they do not repair.. then ill go with mazsport tranny. or try to find one for sale.

I shift at around 5-6 K rpm..

Tranny issues has beeen a thing on my car.

No no i didnt put the stock wheel back.. but i did take it in to get it looked at and it seems that the cause isnt the flywheel.. its something internal in the tranny

Mazsport tranny, 5 and longer gears is not that ok for a not-very-tuned car.
I posted the papers on that thread, it seems to be way too long, also having less gears in a car with a low torque won't help much imho.
You should try and contact Mazmart in a couple of weeks and ask them when the '09 transmission will be available to the public instead.
I have my car at the dealership now because my gearbox needs to be replaced after 26000km but i will probably buy a '09 model gearbox as well considering the way and the places where i drive.

Yea ill have to do that since they actually might try to get themselves our of reapirs.. since i posted this..

Sad but its true.. Warranty might be void... but they dont see that this is the 3rd time.. and seems liek alot of people are having issues with these transmissions..
MAN people describe the same things i have and it really is sad.

how much would mazmart sell thiers for?

I believe if you contact Scott he can get you a 6speed solution as well.
