does anyone else's abs traction control light flicker from time to time?

im like most rotary guys i love the rx8, but mines havin a problem..... i put on a racing beat cold air intake n 3 " catback exhaust (racing beat), i put the tornado im sure u heard about it...... well now i doubt this is from the intake exhaust or tornado, but for some odd reason when i turn my lights on at night or turn my hi beams on, the lights on my dash turn off flicker for a sec, then turn back on, i took this to riverside metro mazda, n they said its prolly the battery, or a sensor, now they ask my if i had an intake on it, i told them it came like that but i put the tornado in, now they wanna see if they can void my warranty becuz of that( ******* BULLSHIT), so im takin it to NORCO mazda to see what they can do (they sell racing beat aftermarket there), if anyone has had a problem like this n got it taken care of please let me know THANX.

What a bunch of BS to try and void a warranty. We should have a listing on this site of dealers that have attempted to void warranties for such lame rationales - or do we already have this somewhere and I missed it?

Sounds more like a bad ABS sensor. What city is this "riverside metro mazda" in?

That will be a bad abs speed sensor. When they installed the exhaust they could have ruptured the sensor on the rear wheels. But hopefully for your sake, it was just unplugged a tad. Be sure to check this out. If they did it, it will NOT be covered under warranty b/c it was done carelessly. You will have to get the installer of the exhaust to pay for it. It will be in the neighborhood of $600 per wheel if it is the sensor so be ready. As far as the dash lights go, i have no idea what could be causing that. I know there are sensors on the front and rear that level the headlights if you have the xenon package but that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

ok i found out the problem! for one my battery was crankin out around 2-300 amps when it should be crankin around 500! n to top it off my negative cable on my battery came loose, becuz of that my ecu was actin up n it was settin off those sensors which became defective. So now its all good, but the service manager from riverside metro mazda, was tryin to void my warranty becuz of the intake on there, i told him MY INTAKE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MALFUNCTION. Ive had that revi cold air intake on my car from 1500 miles n im at almost 6000 with NO PROBLEM. so they took care of it im goin to norco mazda to make sure they didnt fu*k with it. oh yea n cleont becuz of buying the tornado with my revi cold air intake im gettin about 20 mpg city n thats accelerating pretty fast shiftin around 6-7.5 rpm so u tell me if 60 bucks isnt worth it. Drivin highway with the tornado i made it from northern las vegas to riverside which is a good 4 hour drive was almost a 300 mile drive if not a bit more n made it to my house with the light on??? so yea i would buy it.

i have gotten over 330 miles out of a tank of gas. 24.something. and that was before the revi and cai.

just for fun why dont you take out the tornado and see if you see a mpg decrease!!!

just for fun, as i am going to be doing the big ac experiment.
