CEL for catalyst system
I have a greddy catback and i had a bolt missing after the cat. After runing the code it read Catalyst system below threshold bank one. I also have a misfire. does anyone have an answer to what this might be?

no your exhaust is fine...it's your cat thats bad. It's the piping before the exhaust. Are your coils still good cause bad coils will cause the cat to go out eventually

yeah.... but your still going to get the check engine light with the same code. I have a Racing Beat Dual res midpipe and my check engine light has been on pretty much ever since I installed it. It goes off every once and a while which I don't understand but I have an 04 and I guess the 04s can somtimes get away with not have a cel shine up. OH and just because it's been a year since you replaced your coils....don't mean anything. Dealership coils don't last very long and if you put a midpipe on...I'm not sure if a bad coils would cause carbon buildup in that as well. I'm assuming it will...I can't get a straight answer out of anyone about it...but that might be my problem right now cause my stock coils have been going bad for quite some time now. I didn't realize it and I have a sputter in the high RPMs now and I think perhaps it might be cause of carbon build up in the midpipe. What I'm saying is I'd upgrade your coils as well to BHR coils before you put on a midpipe. BHR coils last A LOT longer. Just a thought.
