battery change

I had to get a new battery today and I was able to reset to DSC light but the otherlight is still on (the slipper road looking thing) will that go off in time?

Also, with the battery change does the car have to relearn all the trim stuff? It didn't seem like it idled the same or drove exactly the save. It seemed sluggish.

turn the car off and turn it back on; the light will be off

and yes the pcm needs to relearn fuel trims; give it a few drive cycles and it will be back to normal

The DSC light will go out once you go driving a little more but as for your battery change did your old battery not have any cranking power? A new battery will not fix your sluggish problem if any thing you might be having problems like I am having. When was the last time you changed out your ignition coils and spark plugs? Your engine might be losing compression and failing so if anything you can get a new motor if you have not done anything to the engine and have proof of oil changes. Has your car been stalling? My car started out being sluggish then to stalling here and there then to almost everytime. I just did the Mazda Zoom cleaner today and got a lot of smoke and the good thing is it stayed running after this so hopefully I fixed the stalling problem. I got denied a new motor at Bill Brit Mazda because of my performance upgrades so I took things in my own hand and hopefully made my car last a little longer. Keep it stock, look out for the signs, keep up with the oil changes and you will be safe on your way to get a new engine.....

it did not feel this way until I put this battery in. It sounds different and drove different.

The battery was dead. It was the original battery in the car. It wouldn't even start to crank or ignite. Jump the car was instant. ran it for a bit turned it off and tried to start it again and nothing, same as before.

If the time levels are messed up, doesn't need to learn how I drive and what not? Honestly the car was fine before, it went when I wanted to do. It was fully warmed and mashing the pedal down it went just not as it used to.

car as 24000 miles on it. Since I got it I've gotten it serviced only at Browns Mazda in Chantilly VA, following the Mazda maintenance schedule (which it due soon. I have no performance upgrade to the engine unless you want to call the K&N an upgrade.

If I needed a new engine I don't think I would be denied and I don't think it's a problem.
