Smoking

This happened after the dealer did the first oil change. He said he didn't get the filter on correctly and spilt oil. After driving the car I would pull into my garage and it would be smoking like crazy, bad oil burn smell. Oil level fine. Now i changed the oil two weekends ago and again its smoking and oil is under the car. No leaks from the pan or bolt and no leaks from the filter. Is it possible to spill that much oil when you take the filter off that it would pool somewhere and slowly leak and burn off? I spilled a little getting the filter of but didn't think it was this much. Last time this went on for about a week and then went away.

Double check your filter and oil pan bolt. I've never seen any drip to the ground or smoke from dripping a little out of the filter when you take it off...

I agree, but last time the dealer changed it the exact thing happened. I just checked my oil level and its still good, flashlight to the filter and pan bolt and no leaks. Is it possible I spilled more then I thought and is there somwhere for it to pool and not spill straight out the bottom? The car is running fine it seems but once i shut it off I get the smoking from the hood and the smell.
