Series II Renny in Series I

I know this has to have been asked before but these terms are real hard to search for and the engine swap forum didn't have anything.

So will a Series II Renesis work in a Series I 8? If so, I'm betting it's not plug-and-play so what needs to be done? If not, how come?

Thanks!

You would appreciate it even more if you knew how much effort it took me not to post my first thoughts. That said, the posted response fits the questions asked because it's not worth the effort to explain to someone who is totally in the dark on the subject on all of the technical and financial complexity behind why their seemingly simple idea isn't.

Maybe start by reading all of the failed engine reports in the S2 forum area. If you still insist on having an S2 engine it will be cheaper to just pony up for a trade than end up of with a bastardized hybrid that nobody in their right mind would ever be willing to pay what you put into it. This is primarily true on most any engine swaps. So if you are dead set on something other than an S1 Renesis then at least choose an engine that provides you with some type of gain in return.
Finally, this should have been posted in the engine swap area instead

Why would you consider an S2 Renesis swap when for far less money you can re-shim the front oil pressure regulator and fit a higher pressure rear one and get the main benefit of the S2 block?

Team: My comment wasn't sarcastic. Maybe you're reading too much into this? I just posted this here because 9 out of 10 FI owners have to pull the engine at some point. Seemed more appropriate to ask here about renny-to-renny swaps than next to some bro that wants to stitch an Isuzu V6 in.

Will66: I really like the new dipstick.
