Removing and reinstalling aero skirts

Hi guys,

I found some rust starting on the leading bottom edge of the rear footwell, behind the aero flares. To properly treat that area, I'll have to remove the flares, then reinstall them. Has anyone done this? Anything to look out for?

My main concern is the double-sided adhesive tape...does it come off clean or will I need to pick little bits of it off the car? Can you even buy a thin roll of it to reapply?

Thanks in advance!

While the side skirts look nice, I can't help but feel like they help trap moisture and dirt promoting rusting... Post some photos of the rust.
