Good Buy?

Hey guys, name's Brandon and I live just west of Columbus, OH.

I was recently in an accident (not my fault) in my 2001 Camry XLE and actually wound up totalling it. So, I'm in the market for a new car. So I found this guy and was wondering if this is a good buy.

I'm pretty new to the concept of a rotary engine, and really anything mechanical when it comes to cars, haha. My experience with cars doesn't go much further than swapping batteries or changing oil. So I've heard a lot about getting a compression test and such done before buying, but since this is on eof those "buy here pay here" places, I'm not sure they would do that, as these places usually sell as-is.

So I'm curious as to what you guys think, as there isn't any carfax available online for it from the dealer. I would really like to get it if it is in decent mechanical health, as it's under my $8k budget with some extr financial wiggle room for any small repairs or maintenance it may need.

Any input would be awesome!

Good Buy?

Good points:
It looks clean.

Bad points:
Everything else.

If you MUST get an auto, get 06 or newer. The early models are notorious for having issues.
And at that price, you should be able to find an 06.

As soon as they say it gets "great" gas mileage you can dismiss it as total bullshit. No RX8 gets great gas mileage. But ... you don't buy an RX8 for gas mileage, you buy it for the absolute thrill of driving it.

I always advise new buyers, take your time don't rush..
It's not like you are buying a supra for steal. it's an RX8 there are plenty out there and for $8k budget you should easily find an 07 with low mileage and in great condition.

Test drive as many as you can, and read the new owners thread to get better insights on the car.

All the best!
