Question Can somone please explain this to me???

I want to put a lower air dam on my 8 but when Iwas looking it says "Not for use with grill trim ring and automaitc transmission" Name:  AIRDAM.JPG

I've never understood the reference to "not with AT " The nose is the same as the MT.
The Grille ring they are talking about is the factory trim piece.



But if you look it has the factory lip spoiler on it. So I don't know what they are talking about.

The only thing I could think of was that the airflow may be less. not like we have much to work with in the first place.

It's supposed to just be an airflow concern, I don't know anyone who would use that horrible looking grill piece anyway.

I just want the bottom peice that is painted instead of black like mine is.

I have one on mine; no overheating problems whatsoever.
