audio head and hvac issues

First off my apologies that this isn't in the troubleshooting thread area however due to lack of activity on my account I'm un able to post threads elsewhere.

Situation: On attempting to start my 8 after a week of not driving it in fairly cold Canadian conditions I quickly realized the battery was dead. I attempted to jump the car and just set off the anti theft system. Eventually after messing around with it for a few hours I broke down and called for a tow to the nearest dealership. The next morning the dealership ran diagnostics to find the solutions in replacing the battery and the main engine fuse. After the work the car ran fine, however the entire centre audio unit had no power (including the hvac system) meaning i couldn't change any settings or produce audio with the exception of the force of air dial. I drove her home and stopped into a local audio place to purchase a pioneer din screen and all the needed accessories for a full replacement. The next morning i hop in my 8 to start it up and every things working peachy now (but i haven't replaced a thing yet...).

Ive always been a firm believer in the "things can magically fix themselves" mentality but I'm embarking on a 2600km drive across MB and Ontario next week to move and don't want the same issue to reappear along the way.

So what I'm here to ask is does anyone have any idea what so ever to what may have caused the issue in the first place and to why it would have corrected itself afterwards? Since ideally id rather return the new audio equipment since moving in the first place is never cheap.

Thank you kindly for any information and possible solutions.

Cheers

It could be that you have/had a bad ground or lose connection to your head unit. You could verify by pulling the HU.
