Accessport (mazdamaniac)
Hi, i recently purchased a COBB accessport from mazda maniac with the custom calibration tuning. I am excited to finally pass emissions with my midpipe . I also can't wait to see the increase in performance my car will put out. I am very excited to get the calibrations done by mazdamaniac and I look forward to posting the results here. If anyone else has any comments on him or this product, please feel free to let me know how it is!!

jeff (mm) is banned here. i have an ap tuned by him remotely and recently had my 8 dyno tuned by him in person. i got off to a rocky start with him because im not too good with computers but it all worked out in the end. make sure you follow his instructions to the t.

I am a MM customer as well. Highly recommended, at least the new process. The old one, via email, could not handle the capacity. It took me about 2 days of running through the process for 6 tunes to get to the final one. He also diagnosed a vacuum leak that showed up in the process that I had to fix (free over the phone diagnostics and recommendations on how to find it).
Best thing to do is make sure you find a nice test road close to the house AND, use the tach on the access port for your runs. The tach in my car lagged a bit and I one of my runs was not to a high enough RPM. All in all, car runs better, runs cleaner and pulls very well. I have recommended it to a friend.
At the time I looked at acceleration times and fuel load on the runs for similar air temperatures and convinced myself I had a 5% (10 to 15 hp) or so power increase (car loves cold air). The Fan and Oil Flow mods are a big plus as well. MPG went up about 1 or so if I remember correctly. I told my wife it would pay for itself in 3 to 4 years, and that is pretty close to the mark.
Also, you did not say what year. I would suggest getting the car running well before you start the process. If you have an older one, the stuff is the First $100 thread below is a good place to start. Then check coils and plugs. Would suck to get car tuned for dirty MAF and bad plugs.

9k... who are these other AP tuners? To my knowledge there is only one dongle in existence that opens up the 8 with Pro.
All AP tuners around here won't touch the 8.
Tuning with Race? Sure.

Kane and Steve Kan are two that I have dealt with. Kane teaches you to use Race, I'm actually not sure what Kan uses. In addition, there are also a couple of guys here that have really learned how to tune well but I'll let them chime in if they wish. I don't want them to get flooded with PM's if I mention their names

yeah, its best i just use jeff anyway for now.. i have no clue about tuning, i just know i have a midpipe , stage3 racing brakes, 28 wide tires, and i want to go really really fast + pass inspection lol. I don't live in a sniffer state, just the obII. Hopefully he can handle that

Well i've read every post about MM's undelivered turbo kits, etc... i can tell you though and i have nothing to do with those, i payed for express shiping for my accessport from him and it was here the next day. He responds to my emails about my tune, in a very timely manner, and i would reccomend his accessport service to others. As for buying a turbo, i think not.
Thanks.
Thanks.

if you want a packaged tune, mm should work for you. If you want to understand what your tune is and what your cobb readings tell you or understand what your gauges are actually telling you (if you have them that is) then you may want to get with a tuner who will teach you how to do this. mm doesn't have time nor does he even want to teach you, so he just gathers your data and does it for you. I am not saying its bad, matter of fact, if that's the route you wanna go, then I would recommend mm.

Is it possible for MM to disable the Anti-theft on our cars with the Accessport? I'd ask here but no is sure
Mine's been seriously screwing me over and i'm not down to pay 600$ for a useless module if I can get something real useful for the same price...
