My new baby arrived from Minnesota. Only 13,000 miles. It's like new and I'm loving it.

That car is practically a virgin, lol.

When I bought my 40th AE in 2011 it had that many miles. What a crazy coincidence

Has anyone noticed the front bumper to be slightly off in color compared to the rest of the body? Noticeable mostly under the sun..

Yep.

Some paint colors look slightly different depending on the material they are on. Some green paints look different on bumpers too.

The hood (aluminum) at times looks a little different than the fenders under sunlight .too.

In case you are wondering...my 40th has original factory paint in excellent condition

Good to know, I was thinking it might have been repainted since my front bumper color was so off from the rest of the car.
Anyways, here's mine...as if it's any different than the rest lol

Nice pics, nice vid clip, and that's coming from me, a professional photog and 40th Anniversary Edition owner also. Pistonhater is right, your car is fine, the paint looks different on different surfaces. You have steel, aluminum and plastic surfaces with the paint on it. Your hood and rear doors are aluminum (to help save weight in the car) , the rest of the exterior panels are steel and your front and rear bumpers are plastic. Also the bumper paint has special additive to make it flexible so it does not crack if flexed or bumped. That is also another reason why the bumpers will look a little different color in some different light conditions.

Latest picture I have from a local rotary rally in Charlotte this past weekend! Didn't get a chance to clean up the headlights but they're still not too bad.

I think i was half asleep when I wrote that haha.

I think I meant to say that i thought it was funny that you had to cars of the same but one looks substantially better than the other - at least on my computer monitor.

Now that I think about it...there's really nothing funny about it.

Plz ignore

But still curious...why two of the same car??

I see one has the aero package and matching front mudflaps (like mine), plus what looks like led light accents and accents around the side vents, near fog lights, etc. Is one modified in other ways vs the other being more stock? Are they "his" and "her" cars ?

Short answer: One for SHOW, and one for GO.

Long Answer: When I got my first eight i was torn between wanting to drive it all the time because it is such a fun car to drive and wanting to not drive it and keep it pristine because it is such a beautiful car. Every time I took it down the road I was feeling guilty about putting more miles and more wear and tear on the car and knowing how much work I would have to do when I got back to keep it clean and looking immaculate.

Now I have "Brad" for go, ~68000 mi of pure driving pleasure. Drive whenever I want to no matter the weather condition day or night. Don't stress over small imperfections, bugs getting all over the front end, stray rocks, road grime when raining, general wear or tear, or adding more miles.

And I have "Sophia" for show, 10041 mi of pure perfection. Pristine condition without a scratch. Kept garaged and covered. Only taken out for occasional short drives in good weather.

And to clarify, Brad does not look like trash. I take very good care of Brad and he looks good. But when you put Brad next to Sophia, as you pointed out, the difference is clear.

Now why both 40th AE? I probably don't have to tell you since you own one, but in my opinion the Metro Gray color is the best looking rx8 color. It is not your standard grey car, it has blues and greens in there that come out with different lights and angles. It is also not as "flashy" as some of the other colors that attract unwanted attention. The cosmo red interior is the best I have ever seen. I prefer the S1 body style, and the 40th has upgraded suspension over all the S1's. If it only had the S2 engine, it would be the perfect RX8.

LOL, I did not see your comment when i responded to piston hater. Yes they are his and her cars.

I would consider both of them to be "stock", no major changes. But have some minor changes.

All of the changes to Sophia, you can see in the pictures. Appearance package, aero package with matching front and rear mudflaps, led strip lights, chrome side vents, clear corners, led lights all around, eyelids, custom mesh in grill and oil cooler openings. Everything under the hood is completely stock, heck even the tires are original.

Now with Brad he has a few less appearance changes and some changes under the hood. He does not have the appearance or aero packages but I added aftermarket rotor triangle on front and back along with side strakes, clear corners, and rear mudflaps. Also added the S2 style spoiler. Under the hood he has BHR ignition, BHR Midpipe, Rx8 performance fan control kit, 172deg thermostat, clutch pedal bracket, and air pump delete.
