Call me out and i disappear for a few months, lol baby and work have been keeping me busy. I hate chrome wheels and silver is close hence y i got black ones. Its your car, and you probably already got them or didnt.

My second gear sincro has been failing so i got to get that looked at.

On a happy note i paid off my 8 2weeks ago, just waiting to get the title from the bank!

One of these days when the car is clean and purdy I'll have to drop some pics with the MS Spoiler on it... looks so good. I sometimes forgot how sexy this car is. Two and a half years now and I'm still turning back to look at it as I walk away.

On other notes I just found out I have a bent wheel when I got new tires the other day. I thought some of the vibrations I was having were just the worn out rear tires, but I guess it's a deeper problem than that. The guy at the shop did a pretty decent drop removing the vibrations with balancing but I'm gonna lose sleep knowing something isn't 100% right.

Anyone ever have one of these wheels straightened or un-bent before?

Many places that fix wheel scratches also offer wheel straightening services. But if the wheel is too bent there's nothing you can do

Maybe this will give you an excuse to get new aftermarket wheels

All is well, luckily it didn't happen on a curve. It blew and I pulled over within 5sec.

The incident has caused me to make a judgement call. I ordered a replacement wheel and tire.. Konig deception 18x9+35. Just one wheel for now, it's all I can afford. Picking up some new Aero this weekend or next.

So you guys should see me with some new wheels by middle or late spring and new Aero relatively soon.

what's up fellas? Been a very long time...in that time I unfortunately blew my motor. No more compression and needed a 99% rebuild. Had the motor shipped out to Pettit Racing to be rebuilt, Street Ported/Blueprinted. Really excited to get back in O'l Rexy. should be up and running in a couple weeks. I added a lightweight flywheel and a new clutch both from Pettit. Can't wait to feel the difference! May have to post a video of the sound with the port! I've heard that its a little grumblier which has me very excited and people say the flywheel is very noticeable through the first few gears. I'll post pics of anything that looks cool relative to the "new" motor. best wishes guys! Sorry bout the wheel eric!

Sorry to hear about your engine.

Your 40th should have an engine warranty until 2016. I assume you are over the 100K mile mark already since you sent your engine out for a rebuild. Anyway, the porting plus the lightweight flywheel should make an interesting difference. Please report back once you get her up and running!

I've received a lot of free touch up paint from dealerships, just random ones. Just say you would like some touch up paint, if you know the color code give it to them otherwise they'll find it, and you'll receive some. Granted not ALL dealerships will provide this free of charge, but most of the ones i've gone to have. The paint may not be 100% perfect, but it's pretty darn close.

Thanks ninja, I'll give them a call today.

Has anyone gone with gold paint on calipers? I have red on now but I'm thinking gold may look better with the metro mica. If you do can you post a pic?

Also, finally got LEDs in my parking lights and side markers (pic kind of sucks, I'll take more with a better camera soon), and swapped front turn signals with super bright white LED and rear with red LED. Looks so much better without the amber reflections... imo.

They do have the paint for me, $10.99 +tax... I guess it's worth it.
I just noticed on the previous page (21) that USNIDC listed his 40th as #268/1000. Is this true?!?! Do they have production numbers?

Usually with spcial editions you are given some sort of identification. With the 300zx, the last 300 were called the Commemorative Edition and you literally had a paper certification for that car to prove it. I would think it's safe to assume that since each car has a VIN, it would be easy to track what number you have.

As far as production number yes, 1000 were shipped to the US.

If you email Mazda USA customer service with your VIN number they can tell you what your production number was.

Alas, I sold my RX8 last summer and bought a 2014 Mazda6. I really miss the 8 but love the 6 and really love averaging over 32 mpg.

Wow, it worked. I'm number 279/1000. was hoping for 0001 or 1000, but at least I know now. Thanks for the info.

Never worked for me.

I contacted Mazda twice (two different customer service representatives) and they couldn't trace specific production # from my VIN number.

I guess I'll never know........
