What A difference-New Tires!

I bought my 8 a few months ago. (04 Titanium Grey MT6) I've enjoyed the car, but have to say that I didn't quite understand all the hype about handling. The car had Pirelli winter tires on it when I bought it. Since I live in Indiana, I left them on as winter was aproaching. They were getting beyond the point of needing replacement, so I had a set of Yokohama all season tires put on the other day. Now I get it! It's like a new car. Handles as well or better than anything I've driven. I'll never again drive on tires longer than I should!

Tires are the best mod for the money. People always ask on here what they should do first. Tires.

+1. Also it's age as much as tread. Tires will harden and heat cycle out over time. Even if you have tread left the age of the rubber will also reduce performance.

Yep. Summer tires are definitely on tap when the snow is gone. I'll probably just keep two sets of wheels and swap as the season changes.

People should spend more time on choosing good tires for their car. They make a world of difference in a car's dynamics.

Good luck!

I was unexpectedly caught in bad weather with Icy roads this past December on Dunlop Direzzas. It is an exercise not recomended for the faint of heart or those with a heavy foot. Made it back home safely, but the 200 miles I had to traverse with those tires were some of the most difficult driving I have ever done.. Normally I don't take the 8 out unless roads are dry and the sun is shining. That first glare ice, as I was going 65 MPH, was a genuine wake up call.

The next set of tires for the car will be the Bridgestone RE 11's
