SPDA Advance Driving Clinic Weekend course."
This past weekend I took my car to the 'Powerade Center ' in Brampton Ontario.
for the "SPDA Advance Driving Clinic Weekend course."
It was an opportunity to get more up and personal with my car when it comes to performance and technics.

Technically it was yesterday; but I took the 8 to the Stealership for a tranny flush (no tools or garage where I'm at currently q-q). feels a lot nicer already and has since not had a grind between 3rd and 4th... Im sure it will eventually because it's most likely a syncro ring issue but oh well, I have peace of mind knowing it was something that needed done.

Got my SRP racing pedals in this week and installed them yesterday morning. I underestimated how much wider the new gas pedal is. It's now much easier to heel toe. There's a bit more grip ( but not too much ) and the pedals look great down there.

I actually emailed Brian asking about them. He said he'd made a few sets for our cars but I guess there hadn't been enough buyers to justify the effort of putting them up on his site. Shoot him an email and he can get you set up pretty easily. Installation was straightforward on my s2 and seems to be the same across s1 and s2 cars ( I think the guys who ordered previously from him had s1 cars, iono ).

I would highly recommend them. Just a note, however: I don't think this particular machining pattern would be very good for wet shoes on the pedals. Luckily, they have a ton of options to choose from!

59k today
Right when I got in the car and started it up, I noticed the ODO said exactly 59000 miles. Now, it actually less than that geographically, because I've noticed that my speedo clocks 1mph higher than my GPS devices. Not sure if it is due to the 18" wheels?

Mines read 2 mph faster than GPS on the smartphone at highway speeds. Stock wheels and oem size tires.

Water Foul
Last night, I cut my car back over to track use after getting it inspected a couple of weeks ago. Going to see what the new SCCA Track Night in America is about next Tuesday night.

Got the AC and alternator belts and license plate bulb today. Changed out the bulb in about a minute (so easy), and planning on getting the belts in sometime in the next month.

Some people argue the usefulness of this over stock, but the stuff I mentioned above made it worth it to me.

That is correct, it uses 2 stroke oil instead of 4 stroke. I suppose you could use 4 stroke still but the benefit of this setup is the ability to use 2 stroke. It burns cleaner than 4 stroke so there should be less carbon build up. Plus I can run synthetic and not spend a fortune topping it off. And finally the oil is a clean supply instead of dirty oil pan oil.

AFAIK the only people selling OMP adapters is Rotary Aviation: Oil Metering Pump Adapters - Rotary Aviation<br />.com

Yeah, some people use the windshield washer fluid bottle and some people prefer to add an additional bottle solely for the 2-stroke.

Preparing for long road trip
Looks like we decided to not take a rental car, and are taking the 8 on a ~3000 mile trip across the west.
Also, when I changed the battery, I clipped my trickle charger ends to the + and - while the battery was transplanted. That little bit of electricity kept me from a radio reset and the traction control reset.
Freshly waxed, and getting it all road ready.
- Transmission fluid flush - check
- Oil change - check
- New tires - check
- Inadvertent partial coolant flush by replacing radiator - check
- Replaced 5 year old battery with new Interstate MT35 - check
- New air filter - check
- Fresh hand wax applied - check
- Supply of oil and 2-stroke for fuel mixture - check
- 60k miles on ODO - check
