Question: Impact of Resetting Computer

Might be a dumb question, but here goes.

I had the dreaded flooding problem on the 4th of July. Pulled car out of garage, washed it and pulled it back in on the 3rd. Get in car on 4th and no start. The folks on the 800 number were great. Came out to my house within 60 minutes on a Holiday to tow the car to a dealer. Everything got fixed per the TSB.

Question: the dealer reset the computer on the car. It seems to be faster today? Does your car "learn" from your driving after awhile? I drive my car pretty conservatively. Did the car's computer adapt to my driving and when reset, restore the zoom zoom back again?

BTW: Anderson Mazda in Crystal Lake Illinois is awesome. If you own a Rx-8 in the far NW Chicago suburbs, it is the place to get service.

The computer does learn your habits...if you drive conservativly...it gets used to it and doesnt show all its ***** when you get on it. Resetting, resets it to factory.

Yeah. And the computer is too good at going back to granny mode. I find it very irritating.
