OOOO the problems I have had with my 8....

This will be the 3rd issue in 1 year I consider major, first was the clutch pedal, second was the power steering rack, and now the Oil Cooler Hose is rusted through and needs to be replaced.

The dealer is asking around $500 total for the repair.

2 parts

N3H1-14-830H http://www.finishlineperformance.com...cat=336&page=1

(995621800)x4

Any one have any idea how hard this is to install and is any one selling this part?

Check with Mazmart (forum vendor here, username Mazmart). They can get anything OEM for a MUCH better price than dealers. And yes, I bet that you can replace it without much trouble, though if you don't drain well first, you might have a mess on your hands.

A mess is the last thing I am worried about.....

I have paid $1300 in repairs in one year on this car and it makes me sad because I really love this car.

I'd send a question to '9krpmrx8' about the ease of replacement. He converted to a single larger oil cooler system, so was messing around with all those hoses. He could probably give you advice or tips in replacing it.

The original oil cooler hose has a problem with rust. the new updated part does not have this problem.

Its not hard to install/replace it. but instead of using stock lines. consider this

I got a complete set of cooler hoses, off a part-out car, for $150. Racing Beat sells braided lines. They are expensive.

The Canadian recall was because the hoses tend to rust through faster in cold climates. They didn't really show up much in the US except in northern states, but not enough for a recall given that the 8's population is largely south.

Bogus IMO if its a problem thats going to happen sooner or later then it should be on all of them not just for canada.

Really the dealer is only charging me like 310 for the hose? Or is that only part of the entire tubing.

You have them for sale?? or you just got them yourself?

I have my friends dad checking on prices for me he works for Ford and says he might be able to get a new part on the cheap. So if that falls through you have ur self a buyer.

I sent a msg to MAZMART "6" and he said he could do $125 + shipping. This was on the 17th....he has yet to get back to me. If anyone else has this part for a similar price please let me know I need it ASAP. My car has been at the dealer for about a week and a half.

Does any one know what the difference is between the original part and the part that is rust resistant?

Was the first one copper? The one I got now is copper.

Just discovered today that mine is rusted and leaking (see pic). Looks like I'll be ordering and installing a new one. Here's a link to my local dealer (Park Mazda) parts site for this piece:

Finished the replacement of mine today. Fairly easy job. The only real issues were some rusted bolts that a bit of WD40, heat, and a little muscle took care of. Here's a shot of the new one.
