Let's see...you're on an RX-8 forum so I'm going to take a wild guess that most of the people here would say RX-8. What does it matter what other people would pick, anyway? Take them for a test drive and decide for yourself.

Depends. Do you want a high-quality interior with a lot of features or a relatively bare bones interior but a lot of power under the hood. At least that's how a friend of mine describes them. He sold Evos until recently when he got a different job.

I'm ignoring the **** banter...
The Evo is certainly faster but it's a bit manic for a daily driver. You'll find the 8 more practical for regular use and still quick on both road and track in it's own right.
Of course there's then the looks. The Evo's HAVE improved in this department (okay, only slightly) but if it was a woman you'd still say she's got great personality.

It is the difference between your car attracting a woman or a guy...
I love the EVO in every sense... just the fact that it is such a boy racer that I cannot be bothered being asked for a race at every stop light.
It is a brillant car, but I just cannot justify the image problem associated with it and the cost to maintain it... image chewing out a set of front brake and front slicks every track day and rotor every 4 track days...

Still weird to me how people would consider two such completely different cars. I’ve never seen a comparison test between an Evo and an 8, don’t think I ever will or need to. I betcha most 8 owners wouldn't consider an Evo, and most Evo owners wouldn't consider an 8, though with everything there are exceptions.
More comparable cars to the 8? G35 coupe, 330i coupe, maybe the new Mustang GT.

They reason they haven't done a comparo is because it would be a huge waste of time since they already know the outcome would be hugely in favor of the Evo.

I was debating over an evo or rx8, and in the end my decision was the 8 since it was cheaper for me to insure and buy. I still love the EVO though (in my opinon looks good exterior wise, easy to mod and quick) but I just wanted the extra funds to have some play money such as modding my car.
