best turbo for my needs?

Ok so to make a long storyshort im going to be getting a large settle for a shoulder injury i had a year ago ranging from 60- 200k with this money im going to pay off most of my debts and invest the rest but i am going to take out a lump to put into my 8.

My question is what would be the best turbo kit for me to buy to make my 8 the quickest quarter mile car/ acceleration. Ive read many posts and searched and my main two picks are MM and mazsport but i dont know much about the mazsport and have read it takes a little longer to build boost . anyone have any input on what you would to if you had 10-20k to boost your 8?

If you are looking for 1/4 mile times then the slightly longer spool time isnt your biggest issue. If you want nice street drivability as well then you want it lower. Also, I think you will find that the MM/BHR will flow much better in the higher revs. Also, if you have that sort of money I would suggest you seriously look at balancing rotors and getting race seals as well.

cool thanks for the help! my main goal is to be one of the fastest 13b streetable 8's now im going to have a good chunk of money but oblisally im not going to spend all of it on the 8 but how much would balancing rotors and seals cost? im also be getting radiator, the mazsport tranny and beef of the drivetrain a little my max i want to spend is really around 15k if i get around a 100k if i get more i might drop a little more like 20 my 8 will pretty much be strictly my fun weekend car then.

Unfortunately in the US I cant help on costs. But here it would cost you a few grand...like 4 or 5. Likely to be cheaper there.

Radiator is a great idea, but dont forget the remedy water pump

You should do the 20b swap, plus port job and large turbo

I think the best turbo for your need would be the BHR/MM turbo.

well if its only 60 im just going to d a small job on my car you know like greddy w/ the upgrade. The reason i dont buy an 80k+ car is because i dont want to be broke in two months im going to pay my debts and ivest most of it so i can have more money later down the road, hence just pimpin out the 8 and driving one of my other vehicles for a daily driver. anyways i want to see the looks on peoples face when they get smoked by an 8 that is supposed to not be a straight line car *thats what i like making the slow FAST!* an w/ a large chunck of money i wont be afraid of blowing her up im going for as much power as i can on the 13b. i would love to do a bigger rotor but then it wouldnt be the same to me i jut want a fast *** 13b. hopes this explains my thinking a little bit.

Oh and the 60 to 200k range is because i dont know what the company will settle for 60 is worse case scenario 200k is best case

spend as little money as possible.

this is your one chance at a decent nest egg. your in your 20s right? call up smith&barney, tell them you want to open a trust. or buy a house.

I second this idea... cars are great, and I love them as much as the next guy, but retiring early cause of smart investments would be waaaaaay better than a faster car.....

Invest it wisely, but other than that, killing off debt isn't bad. Then again, if ya pay off some debts, which would free up some income, then take said income and stash it away for fun money (ie hookin the 8 up) then invest the rest and deal with the majority of your debt as you currently are, then you will be better off in the long run.

a) you'll fix up your 8 eventually, which means you will be where ya want to with it in the end

b) you'll have set yourself up for later in life, so while your peers (same general job-type/age/job-level) are still working, you'll be sitting on your rear with nothing to do, but tinker with cars.

anywho.... my $0.02, its your money, do what you want with it :D

Maybe I'm just saying this because I'm 23...

I presume the OP is an unmarried guy in his 20's ? If so, remember that this is the best time in your life to build a nasty *** car. You can always make more money, but time just slips away. By the time you are older and have a really stable job and nest egg, it's possible that you will be so busy with a family and job that you won't be able to put the time and money into the project--when you have family obligations you can still be into sports cars, but it's always going to be second to other stuff. I'd say build the car you want now.

That being said, don't be a fool about it. Save some money, pay off some debts. Set a realistic budget. The money isn't the biggest thing though, it's the time commitment.

I've spent the past year building my Rx-7 which now has 386rwhp. I would say it's taken up 50-75% of my free time, but I'm cool with that. I've got the rest of my life to do other stuff. You can always travel with the kids, you can work out, you can do a little woodworking or play some sports or whatever. But building a seriously modified sports car (always depending how far you go of course) takes a lot of time in terms of research and hands-on stuff.
