It's actually pretty easy once you understand the instructions.

I'd recommend doing an oil change and have all the oil drained before installing it however to minimize the mess.

Key note is to make sure you move the tubes on the OMP to the other side of the hose clamp nearby so it doesn't bend into it and potentially wear on it.

Yea I already broke the too part of the battery box in half and one bolt that hold the bottom part. Which is not that big of a deal cause it has 2 other bolts to hold on. And it seems like Im leaking oil all over the botom of those little plastic tubes. Maybe I should just put it back together and let someone else do it lol

Yikes....

Better wipe away the oil from the tubes and verify they aren't leaking.

I had leaking issues on the feeding tube where it clamped around the nipple on the SOHN for a little bit until I finally got it sealed. Took a few tries and was a PITA.

If you were closer towards SW CT I'd offer to help.

Yea anyway I can't do it. The coolant hose is on too tight and I don't have enough strength to take it off. Well at least I tried

Just replied to your PM. It will take a couple weeks, but I can come by after a work day in the city to help.

So I just checked my oil and it was less than a quarter. And I had an oil change 2 weeks ago. I am having a massive leak. But hey, now I don't have to do oil changes, I can just keep adding oil haha

It's coming out on a ground. Just the bottom of those oil lines and the omp are covered in oil. The rest of the engine bay is fine. I already did some research on it and have a few things that could be wrong. But for now, I better stock up on some oil

I would double check the torque on those bolts. (Omp) and the lines.

Hopefully a line isn't cracked.

lol with my 8, I can make everyday a wrenching day for him. Especially since Im at 92k now and maintenance wise I do need to change a lot of stuff on it. Like hoses and things. And I might need motor mounts soon. So I can provide him with A LOT of wrenching )) he can start by taking apart your 8 that's at his garage cause I have a feeling I might need some parts from it haha

If you already pulled off your OMP, make sure the gasket (rubber IIRC?) is in there, otherwise you're going to have leakage.

Depending on the day, I could be down for that.

Been a few years since I've wrenched on my 8

i didn't pull anything off yet. I do need it to move around so I'll just be taking it apart and then putting it back together for now. But I'll take a look at that. I'll also have my mechanic take a look at it today maybe he can give me some pointers.

Just throwing it out there in case, but I presume you have already a hose line, hose clamps, reservoir, and mounting bracket for bolting the reservoir to the car in hand before doing the SOHN install?
