Nissan's Pure Drive ?
http://www.nissanusa.com/all-new-altima/versions-specs/
Starting Next year model, Nissan will introduce 6 new models, first one would be Altima.
I was looking at it and noticed this "Pure Drive" thing, is it Nissan's version of "SkyActiv" ? sounds like it, better engine, high strength steel, better aero, etc etc.
Altima is never a small car, and if they can get 27/37, and their engine is still 2.5, it's gonna make SkyActiv-G look pretty bad, where is SkyActiv-G 2.5 ?! 2.0 is kinda weak !

Here in EU there are "pure drive" versions of current lineup since a couple of years or three..
those are the lowest CO2 emissions versions,(basically small diesel engines) and low resistance tyres....

Don't worry. Your wishes will come to pass and Mazda's bigger petrol engine will beat Nissan in mpg plus using 87 octane and without resorting to the super boring CVT approach. Then the Sky-D will crush them for price vs acceleration, handling and insane fuel efficiency.

Remember, the focus on the 2.0 Skyactiv engine is fuel economy, with just enough power, not lotsa power, with just enough fuel economy.
I'm just hoping Mazda learned from the early direct injection intake valve deposit issues (ie German cars), and are going to make their cars a bit cleaner in those regards.
Its not a bad engine.
I test drove the CX-5 with a skyactiv manual, and it felt like just about the right amount of power and perfect gearing for it.
