Latest ECU flash in Vancouver?

as stated, ive tried metro-town mazda and west coast mazda without success, is there any place in the Lower Mainland that is willing to take the effort to flash the ECU for my 8??

from what i am hearing, down south, the new flashes seem to be helping.

i got the fuel tank recall done a couple of weeks ago in Victoria along with the new flash. it feels A LOT smoother from idle -->5K and to me, the engine sounds different.

i'm not car expert so i can't say definitively, but made a big difference.

id like not to go to victoria, just to get the flash.. ridiculous ferry charges...

so i was wondering what you might have stated as a "problem" that convinced them to re-flash your car!

hmm.. i guess not many peeps have tried to get the latest flash in the GVRD??

give Langley Mazda a call, they are near the Langley Bypass. They did a flash for me when I did the fuel tank recall. They give pretty good service there.

sorry i wasn't implying that you should come to victoria :D

isn't the re-flash a required part of the fuel tank recall? i never actually got the recall letter in the mail so i don't know if it's commensurate with the recall.

you could leave the gas cap off and drive around a bit and then get a CEL, act like it's the end of the world and then see if they reflash it!?!

also i guess it doesn't hurt to ask. just don't be too arrogant about it i guess - the dealership hate competition.

I tried to get it at Westcoast Mazda a couple of months back when the R flash was just released. Needless to say, they didn't even know about it yet. If you find a dealership that knows anything in the lower mainland, let me know.

thats a better response.. thanks guys..keep em coming..

my recall appointment is on Saturday..at Metrotown Mazda...ill try being persistent to get the flash.. but if it doesnt work out.. i guess i could make a field trip out to langely.

i tried at West Coast Mazda too with no avail.

ooo.. and my beautifull new, cheap (priced), rims arrived today.. im sooo excited cant wait to mount them on.with my tein basics...ill prolly head down to MF technology after the recall.

TEnzo GT-05 19x8.5 +45 19x9.5 +30, im anticipating the need to roll/cut enders for the rears and ill add a spacer for the front to make it as flush as possible.. but thats no problem because i saved money, instead of buying $5K rims i paid only $1200 CAD!!!! for all 4!! :D

...begin RANT:

avoid MF for installs!!!! they couldn't even do the Basics corectlly..... they are cheap but you get what you pay for!!! after a week of driving i decided to take off the front passenger wheel to see whe there was so much clunking noise coming from that corner........

...guess what??!!

.... i could turn both bolts on the upper control arm with my fingers!!!! they never tightened them....

I still have a weird noise coming from the rear passenger side... but i can't figure it out.....

My advice is pay more and get it done right....

BTW how long did it take you to get your Basics? cause they gave me bullshit reasons for why it took over 6 weeks for mine..... i wasn't impressed....I was gonna buy my Stern wheels from them but they never returned calls and didn't seem to care if i bought them or not...... Rant OFF

carmodifier.com

those guys are awesome... I was originally trying to get teh TSW volcanos for the same price but .. it was on back order.. and since carmodifier has such great service... they changed my order to the tenzo GT-05s after 3 months cause i was getting impatient ... couldnt be happier .. and to make it better, gave me free tuner lugs and locks and i only paid one tax! GST! total was 1350 shipped to my door!

If you want to strike a deal with them, talk to Jared or Peter, they respond to emails immediately and even call you if they cant get a hold of you through the net... thats customer service!

WOW.. thats the first, i use to work at Canadian tire next door.. and they hooked me up well when i had my Focus SVT with no probs.

hmmm.... i guess i could stay closer to home and look for another place...i really dont want to pay alot for coilover installation since its really easy! but at the same time i don want to go through what you are facing.... decisions.. decisions..i hope everything works out... acutally why dont you take it over to them and let them know whats going on?

i didnt buy my basics from them... i got it from injected performance's groupbuy...

$860 CAD shipped to my door...MF was asking over $1K when i inquired..

it took 5 days for delivery...

will dooooo,, but i am going to warn you that i love a stiff ride with instant control..im not a fan of a body roll at all (feels like im driving a caprice at the moment) so my opinion is going to biased..

. thanks rageboy... any one you recommend i talk to for the flash.. if things dont go too well at metrotown mazda..??
