Lightbulb Best tire?

In the market for new summer tires. I've got 245/40/18 Toyo T1-S now. I like the grip level and ride quality of this tire. Any suggestions for a replacement?

Options currently considering:

Toyo T1-R
Falken Azenis 615
Kumho ____
Etc.

I want high grip level in dry and wet, with exceptable wear, noise, and ride quality. I plan on tracking the car some, but primarily daily driver.

Thanks for the help!

You could do a search.

It all depends upon how you drive and where you live.

I would not go T1 R as they will where real fast.

I like Kumho Estca ASX for all season or go with the other version of summer tire.

The Kumho MX will wear fast as they are for racing just like the T1 R

I have searched and read some opinions, but I'm hoping to attract some new opinions from more people.

I live in Sw VA, will either get a beater or winter tires, and I have a lot of nice twisties and other nice driving roads around.

Also, I tend to drive hard in the corners, so want a suitable tire.

I've actually found quite the opposite of the T1R's. A friend of mine who has an 8 has over 30000 miles on his T1R's and he is quite satisfied with the dry and wet traction. The Kumho's are also quite good but please don't expect a long treadlife from the Falkens. I'm running a set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2's that I am very pleased with. I've only had the tires for about 9 months but they are awesome. I've tracked the car once at Willow Springs and they performed flawlessly. I got the tires in the stock size for $160 each mounted and balanced tax included. IMO one of the best tires on the road.

I love the T1-Rs on my 8 (245/40 on stock wheels) as well as the Ecsta MXs on my M3. I think that they are both great, but for comparison, I would say that the MX is slightly louder, wears faster, & is a bit stickier. I can't really compare as they are on 2 different cars, but... thats my $ .02

30K with T1-R's seems really good...

Is it safe to say that if the Toyos have a slightly softer sidewall that they will offer a bit better ride quality, especially over imperfections and bumps?

Eagle F1 GSD3 - excellent tyres, outstanding in wet, and fantastic grip on dry conditions.

Yeah, I'm not sure where you heard the T1R's wear fast. Have a much longer tread life compared to the RT-615's (obviously different grip level), and has had very good reports. But if you are looking for a good overall tire that gives you good wet/dry traction, good tread life, and low noise the T1R is a strong choice or like the poster said above the Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's or Pilot Sport 2's (but $$$).
