19 x 9.5 38mm offset and 275 tire Rub issues?
Hey guys I just purchased a set of HP Evo Wheels from a forum member.
The setup is like this.
Front: 19 x 8.5. Tires are Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's 245/35/19 38 Offset
Rear: 19 x 9.5. Tires are Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's 275/30/19 38 Offset
Now Ive searched the forums, but couldnt get a concise answer on this speciific question. Please forgive me if it has been discussed before.
Im on business right now and wont install the rims until this weekend (September 9th)
Just wondering if you guys think I will rub? The buyer said he was rubbing but he had his car lowered with S-Techs.
I have stock suspension right now however I plan to lower with H-techs in the coming months.
Your help is really appreciated.
Thanks
Kris

I don't buy Kool-Aid
They should not rub but it depends on the manufacturer and yes how low your car will be. If they do rub. Roll your fenders asap! and post pix when you can.

The wheels are HP EVO Lightnings
How much does it cost usually to get fenders rolled?
Anybody in the Toronto Area know a good place to do it?
You guys think I'll Rub with the H-techs huh? I bought a replica MS Kit I will wait until it is installed to determine if the drop is needed (probably will need it to get rid of the fender gap).

Now Guys, remember im still on Stock Suspension.
Im aware that many of you have lowered the car, I havent lowered as of yet.
I have contacted my local wheel shop and they told me 750 dollars to roll my fender I was like WTF!
They said that once they roll, the paint cracks in the inside and it starts to rust very quickly.
Is this the case? Im in canada so we do go through some tough snow and salt.
Again Im on stock suspension, even with stock setup you think ima rub? I cant wait to put the wheels on, but to be honest Im kind of apprehensive to do so if they rub.
Thanks and Regards

750 is way to expensive to roll fenders. canadian or us dollar. don't let the fact of rubbing steer you away from getting the wheels on. since you plan on lowering later (stock height realy is too high), just find another place that can do the fenders for cheaper. i had mine shaved, it's safer because the paint doesnt have to bend or crack, just shaved off. all you have to do to prevent rust is to dap paint on the edges.

well the 750 included repaint of the fender after they roll it and the second quarter doors.
I have the white water pearl so it costed a bit more he said.
So i should be around 100-150 to roll my fenders? And shaving i take it costs a bit more?

I think Im just going to Roll the fenders to be sure about it..... cause i do plan to lower the car after winter with the H-Techs.
when i get home on saturday I will install the wheels and post some pics..... Hopefully the rub wont be too bad, Apparently the front werent rubbing only the rear.

So many of you guys just shaved em?
I called many body shops and they all ranged from 450 (cheapest) to 1000
they ALL said if i roll the fender in this car it will crack the paint and I will have to repaint the fenders.
I dont get it, alot of you guys seemed to roll the fenders in the rear and had no issues. yet all the body shops I called here in the GTA said that the paint will surely crack.
I do know many of them are just looking to make money. But they all reached te same general concensus.
For those of you who have actually ROLLED your fenders, did you guys experience paint cracking? I know its standard procedure to heat the area with a heat gun prior to the roll so the paint is a bit more flexible.
Im inclined to just buy the tool from ebay for 200 dollars and do em my self
Atlease I know I would take the proper steps to avoid cracking the paint.
Whats your thoughts on it?
