Great news and once again I'll make the yearly pilgrimage.

I do have to ask how are they moving to a bigger and better site by going to MNOA when they've been holding them at MNOA? That's not a move.

Jedi54

I think they mean it's moving to the MNAO corporate building off the 5 fwy instead of the MNAO R&D facility on Redhill???

I think Fred turned off his logic unit. As mentioned before the Mazda North American Operations site is not the same as the Mazda North American Research and Development site. They are just a couple of miles apart there in Irvine.

I've been to both and there is a difference. They are both easy to spot via Google Earth if you enjoy surfing the globe from space.

We've been together 4 years and she's very tolerant of my hobbies/interests as long as it isn't other women. Damn it! I just know she is going to get really bored really fast and want to leave and go shopping. I've told her in the past that the trip out there is for rotary first and if there is any time left, for whatever else there is to do. There is never enough time. This has been pretty good at making her not want o go but now she's curious as she's never been to California. I don't want to get stuck sight seeing around Rodeo drive or in some damn overpriced trendy hair salon. We'll see.

Jedi54
07-12-2006, 01:04 PM
OMG RG, best of luck to you bro!
Here's what you do: if she gets bored, have her take the rental car about 2 miles down the road to the Irvine Spectrum, she'll have TONS of fun shopping down there while you enjoy all the sweet rotary cars.

I'm sure any one of us can drive you down there to meet up with her afterwards. See, everyone wins!

XDEEDUBBX
07-12-2006, 01:04 PM
dude, leave her at the south coast plaza, big mall with expensive shopping boutiques. Its about 15 mins away from 7stock..

It would probably be about a good 7 hour drive. Depends on when you hit the Orange County Area. Traffic is always a mess down there!

Traffic is always a mess down there!

horrid. Actually when he had the caravan there it took us 13 hrs to get there. But I spent 2hrs in gridlock bumper to bumper traffic, thats how long it took me to get from la to irvine. I spoke with another resident once, and he hold me once it took him 4hrs to go 20 miles.

But without traffic 7hrs is about right.

Not much to see in Irvine but business parks!

The place you want to go with an RX-8 is Mullholland Drive, off the 101 Freeway northwest of LA. Out in the canyons there you can drive the corners for hours!

I'm coming to Sevenstock from Blythe, then have to immediately drive to Vegas to put my car IN the SEMA show! It's gonna be a long 7 days!

Just confirmed for Sevenstock 9 are Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell of SpeedSource Race Engineering! Making the trip to SoCal with Tremblay and Haskell will be their Grand Am Rolex GT RX8 they been developing and competing in for 2006. SpeedSource has specialized in Mazda racing since its inception. Throughout the late '90s, continual development of the 2nd generation Mazda RX-7 produced a national market for the ITS class car, engines, and components. SpeedSource built over 50 Mazda RX-7s and dominated club racing, winning the SCCA ITS ARRC championship in 1998 and 1999.
SpeedSource also developed the 3rd generation Mazda Twin-Turbo RX-7, and again produced on-track results and built a market base for race parts. Endurance racing from 1996 through 1998 saw the two-car team score numerous poles, podium finishes, and the 1998 team championship in the Speedvision Cup. SpeedSource, with primary support for Mazdaspeed and Mazda USA, develops, builds and races the Mazda RX-8 in the Grand-Am Cup ST Championship, winning the drivers and teams championship in 2004, the first year of development. For 2005, SpeedSource repeated their 2004 success with the 2005 Driver, Team, and Manufacturer's Championship.
Our Banquet program has come together extremely well and with the newest addition it promises to be something very special. Purchase your tickets today!

Thinking about going to SS9. How many people are expected? and how many cars (rotary of course) would I expect to see? Sounds like fun... hoping I can go :)

Yep Billy is a great guy and a good driver. He can tell you some interesting things about some of the "prototypes" he has been around/driven. I sure wish I had had it together when I was that young. Heck he even listens to us old guys sometimes and if the oldguys are smart at times they listen to him.

I'm nervous about getting on the flight I want. I'm trying to leave here at 9:20 am but might not get out of here until 5:40 or so. That's going to waste a whole day out there. I wanted to stop by Mazdatrix and a couple of other places.
