In summary , australian cars differ in spec to american our manuals deliver 177kw at 8200rpm.
The australian spec car uses the european spec powertrain control module we measure our kw figures using the euro ECE ratingUS uses the SAE standard.
The cars sold in our market develop both the power and torque figures quoted and the proof , as always is in the driving.
Wheels magazine (August 2003 edition ) has put an rx8 through its paces recording a 0-100kmh time of just 6.4 seconds , only 0.2 seconds off mazdas claimed 0-100 kmh time despite testing the car with two people on board.
