I located and bought a new '05 Shinka—internet sales—at a local dealer. The reputation of their service department is just… so-so. There's another Mazda dealer in the area with a much better service department; I took my MX-5 there all the time.

So… is there any reason why I should get the car serviced at the dealer I bought it from? (I suppose if there were stuff wrong with the car—a misaligned hood, strange noises, etc—I would take it to the selling dealer. But my car doesn't seem to have any problems, so I'm just talking about routine warranty service.)

Also, let's say I did take it to the other Mazda dealer. If they had to keep the car, would they be obligated to give me a loaner?

here is my experience. I bought my car used from connecticut. It was an 04. I live 3 blocks from Giuffre Mazda in Brooklyn and have done all TSBs on my car. (actually, Im pickking my car up today. They just did the starter, plugs, battery and Flash TSB). I also had them replace a tail lamp assembly due to water. I had my car there for a week because they had to wait for the starter. I could've taken a loaner but i didn't need it.

You can go to any service dept you feel is best for you. Makes no difference where you bought it.

Yeah the dealer in killeen sucks big time. If the problem is serious, I take it to the mazda dealership in waco.
