19s much noiser than stock?

19s much noiser than stock?
trying to get an idea if going to 19"s gives significant amount more road noise than stock.

opinions?

depends on the type/brand of the tyres
the alloy wheel itself would not be making much noise... if any

Tires make road noise, not wheels/wheel size...

But... I had 19's on my car for a while, and I didn't have an increase of road noise =)

You probably have a lower profile tire, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Lower profile will typically give more noise, because of less/stiffer sidewall... I wasn't running a very low profile though, I'm afraid of potholes =) I was runnin 245-40-19

I wouldn't ride with anything less than 45 series tires for daily driving.

I recently changed from stock 18's to 19's. Don't notice any increase in noise.
