Thumbs up Protek R

Hey guys, Cam at Pettit racing told me to try this! I bought a case.

It is a synthetic fuel lubricant. 4 oz. per 12 gal. of gas. Pre-mix

I have been running it for 3000 miles so far. Awesome, car seems to run much cleaner. Add it to every fill up. I have not had to add any engine oil yet!

Before i had to add about 1/4 quart every 1500 miles!

Good stuf!!

How would adding oil in your gas tank stop the oil metering pump from working?

No one said it stopped the OMP from working! It just seems my oil use seems to be a little less?

The OMP is controlled by a throttle vs RPM map, so maybe your driving habits have become a lot less aggressive?

The OMP has no idea what you are putting in your gas tank, in fact usually when you run premix you disconnect the pump all together because more oil is better but too much is bad for your cat.

I was thinking about that too but ever since I switch back to Royal Purple, my idle is smoother, and better throttle respond. plus Im a lazy person so pre-mix is not really for me atm. hahahaha

but I might try it one day .....

Its likley that the additives in the Protek are reducing the amount of engine oil breakdown, thats why you dont need to fill up as often. But then again, you may just be driving like a granny

WHY USE PROTEK-R FUEL LUBRICANT:

The rotary Engine’s oil metering system is responsible for lubricating the delicate apex seals and internal compression seals common to every rotary engine. Engine oil is fed via the engine oiling system (crankcase) to a variable ratio metering pump, from there it’s routed to the engine where it drips in partially mixing with the onrushing air-fuel mixture. Fuel-to-oil ratios of 400:1 and higher are common. With over 25 years of rotary engine experience, we have seen the harsh effects of insufficient lubrication on the delicate internal components of rotary engines, adding to this condition fuel is of the unleaded variety and primarily designed to CLEAN piston engines. Because of the high combustion temperatures produced by rotary engines this minute oil film is quickly broken down then today’s super fuels clean the apex seals, side seals, corner seals, etc. leaving them void of lubrication resulting in increased friction and wear as well as decreased performance and efficiency. By adding just 4 oz of Protek-R fuel lubricant with an average fill up of 10-12 gallons of fuel, the fuel-to-oil ratio is improved by 100%, bringing the ratio to 200:1 or better. Protek-R can extend rotary engine life by 30% or more, depending on your driving habits and consistency of use.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For racing purposes Protek-R fuel lube is mixed with fuel at the ratio 100:1 or aprox. 1oz./gal of fuel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Protek-R
Blended Especially for PETTIT RACING by Klotz
special formula lubricants division.
Benefits include:
Extended engine life
Reduced internal friction and wear
Less drag means more power
Added protection against rust and corrosion
Blends completely with fuel will not separate
Easier starting
Carbon free
100% Synthetic

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Protek has proven itself for over 20 years in every type of racing. In ‘98 Pettit Racing won the Team and Driver Championships for the U.S. road racing GT2 Series. Pettit Racing has also won five SCCA road racing championships, over fifty national races and set numerous track records in rotary powered cars.

At Pettit Racing, we have used Protek as a fuel lubricant on piston engines as well. On 4 stroke engines Protek works to reduce friction and minimize wear. Benefits from Protek's friction fighters are extended component life especially on the rings and cyl walls. this is especially evident on race and other applications where extreme engine loading occurs. The mixing ratios are 150:1-200:1 depending on severity of use.

I'm pretty happy with Idemitsu. That's the premix I use... wouldn't mind changing over.

IL i have used it

immediately noticed smoother idle and a power increase and better response.small amount of smoke behind the car on full throttle runs.
