Odd questions about Pettit Protek

I just ordered (for the first time) and received ten 12 oz bottles of the Pettit Protek for pre-mixing. So for any of you that have ordered Pettit Protek before, can you tell me first of all why their 12 oz bottles have a label that says 4 oz? Second of all, when they arrived and I opened the box, they were in baggies, with tape covering the tops, and the contents were greasily all over the place.
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this or if this seems normal. Thanks.

I always order the gallon jug. The 4 oz is for 12 gallons of fuel, so if you fill up at 1/4 tank that is roughly 12 gallons. Basically 1 oz per 3 gallons of fuel is what you should use. My one gallon jug also came wrapped, i'm guessing to protect from leaking during shipment.

Don't feel too bad. I wondered about the same when I got my first batch of pre-mix from Pettit Racing.

Seems like they are still using the old 4oz labels with the new 12oz bottles - probably to save money. Your bottles are certainly 12oz regardless of what the sticker says. Pettit used to sell the 4oz bottles, but they don't anymore.

Secondly, their premix is very, very thin and it can leak out of the bottle VERY easily. Mine were leaking a little bit too when I received them.

Having said that, make sure you do anything you can to keep them tight if you put them in the trunk of your car. Otherwise you'll have an oily mess in there I keep mine inside a smaller zip lock bag inside a bigger one just in case.
