Washington Auto Show 12/26 - 1/02
Who's interested in going (those who aren't going out of town for the holidays)? I say we get a group together, I went last year and had a blast!
Mazda is kind enough to allow the Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington to set up a booth within the Mazda display area, which we have taken advantage of for the past twenty four years. Representatives from the club will be there along with guys from the Rotary Revolution Mazda performance shop in Chantilly, Virginia.
Mazda was amazed at how many people dropped by to observe the rotary engine display (with actual engine components) that was set up at the exhibit last year. We could probably purchase a new 8 if we had collected $1.00 every time we explained how the powerplant works to show patrons.
If you happen to become a member of MSCW prior to the show, your membership card gets you in the doors as many times as you wish FREE OF CHARGE. All you need to do is show your card at the main entrance, and let them know you are going to work a few hours at the Mazda exhibit. If you decide to actually help us tell others about how great Mazda's cars are by helping us at the exhibit, you would also receive complimentary passes for the catered food area for exhibitors, which is far nicer than the concession stand stuff available to the public.
If nothing else, stop by the exhibit and say hello to a number of your fellow Mazda enthusiasts, and pick up some information about MSCW, the Mazda Drivers, LLC organization (www.mazdadrivers.com) that hosts high-speed track events, the Rotary Revolution performance shop, or the OG Racing, Inc, the racing/competition safety equipment comapny in Sterling, Virginia. We'll be there every hour and every day of the show!
