DSEA and i where there the other week, how about we plan a meet for Wednesday and all roll there together and have a all of us park next to each other over at taco cabana?

There is an impromptu rotary gathering at Taco Tote next to Bassett tomorrow, Sunday at 2pm.

As you guys know we are a minortiy here in EP so getting together w/ other rotary heads can be a good thing. I am not the point of contact for this meet, just passing on the info givin to me.


Also, trying to arrange for the one and only Steve Kan to come to EP in October to tune a couple of RX7's if anyone here would be interested. I have the info of the person arranging Steve to come down so just pm me if you are serious about a tune.

For those of you who dont know, there arent many rotary tuners around w/ the knowledge and experience that Steve Kan has. Best of the Best.

No worries. I didnt expect to many 8's to show up under such short notice. Thanks for the pm and now we can be in contact for a rotary gathering. I guess you'll bring some of the 8's and I'll be the liason for the 7's:dunno:.

Next, next meet when you're back in town we'd be glad to have you. I didnt really want to be the one to try and get things going for a meet, but its turning out that way on my end w/ some of the FC's, FB's, FA's and our lonely RX-4.

We (Rx7's etc. . .) are a very very small niche in El Paso compared to you guys (Rx8's), so getting us all together would be an awesome thing to happen.

Ill post some pics of my car later on in this thread to better introduce myself.

I actually just bought my FD not to long ago. The car was built by and will soon be tuned by Steve Kan. Its got a full street port along w/ a Power FC and ACT Clutch. All the reliability mods have also been done. Hoping for mid 300''s, nothing to crazy. Would rather have a very reliable street car rather than a high horsepower nightmare.

Plus, 300+hp in a 2800 pound car is more than enough for me at the moment. Anyways, hope you guys have some room in here for a non 8 owner.

I went to the meet as a last minute thing w/ a friend and his red mkiv supra. We parked at the chase bank lot. I didnt say any rx8's there :dunno:.

Ill be there to today's meet that is at 2pm. @ LUVFD... I was there around 9:30pm or so dude... and I cruised around twice around the parkin lot (Chase and target area), that is when I arrived... there, chilled for 45 mins and made another round before I left, I didn't see no1 so I left.

I'll be moving to El Paso in a couple weeks. Anyone know of a good, manual rx8 for sale(around $10k)? Prefer white. Found a couple on craiglist and autotrader but the autotrader ones seem way overpriced. Think it's worth going LA or something to find a better deal?

I am stationed on Holloman AFB, I visit El Paso often. When are you guys going to have a meet there:?

Of all the 8's in el paso, only about five people actually check the forum. Our 8 community here is dead. It's incredibly hard to coordinate an 8 meet here. Several of the people I've run into in el paso aren't even familiar with the forum, let alone interested in meets, it's just the car they drive. If we can get some participation on here, we may be able to set up an 8/Rotary meet.

I am either in El Paso or Las Cruces Friday or saturday. I am usually with some guy with an S14. We usually just drive around.

If you see me at night, I have purple HID's Right now with green parking lights. I am going to get green HID's. I have WCL on the side of my car. so if you see me just stop me or pull up.

Here's my attempt at a little thread resurrection; ran into a CR Shinka last night and talked a little rotary. He mentioned seeing other 8's around town and wanting to try and get some meets together, same here. If anyone is interested in an 8 meet, post on here so we can coordinate names, numbers, times, and locations. Let's get our 8's together.

I'm not familiar with the west side, but I know of a couple of spots on the east side off of Zaragoza and George Deiter. Just installed the AFE short shifter, NOTICEABLE difference, feels good. I'm about to go do a little aggressive driving to give it a real test.

That sounds good DSEA. I just finished making some stickers. they say OVER 9000!!! haha They look good. i have some that are white and some that are shiny silver. If anyone ones some. they are about 13in long and 1.25 wide. good for a bumper. I will bring them next time i am in el paso.

I'm going to do plugs this weekend on account of startup issues so a mountain jaunt will be out. Hopefully my BHR coils will get here soon.

To answer your question about oil I ran 5W-40 synthetic in the TII when I was in Germany. I have not decided what to run out here on account of the desert climate. I'm willing to bet my 8 has 10W-30 Dino in it right now due to the locals.

I meant to ask you about your exhaust. I know you have a unresonated midpipe but are you running stock mufflers? I'm considering a resonated RB or BHR pipe with Borla mufflers. Any thoughts?

Did you notice any difference with the headers? I've been debating getting the Racing Beat headers for awhile.

I did not really notice much from the OBX I got. maybe a little bit at the top but that is about it

After hearing Rory's exhaust the thought that he has the stock cat scares me. I can only imagine how loud it would be if he had a race pipe. I do have to say one thing though single outlet exhaust systems have a quality of their own.
