I work at Abernathy Park on Fort Bliss, I will look for you. We are the step-children of Texas, simply because we are so far from all the other major cities. I have actually met a few RX8 owners from the area. Welcome to the club.

If you happen to see me on Bliss feel free to say hi, I will too.

I almost forgot to ask... do we fall in with the rest of TX here on the boards or with NM. Just wondering what everyone else thinks on that.

Welcome aboard! I am seeing a LOT more 8's around town now.

NoTears, that wasn't me ... thank goodness. I drive that corner quite a bit (but not at 4 am).

Wonder how many people we have in El Paso now. Went to Ruidoso 2 weeks ago...nice driving spots out there.

I think it could be fun but my family won't want to go and I have plans for September already... Thanks though.

Mazda of El Paso has started doing the recall service checks. They still dont have all the parts in if you need anything replaced, but they can still do the inspections.

That is good to hear, I talked to the service manager there just the other day and he told me my VIN would be one that would require the repair. I'm going to get back with him later and set up an appointment.

I never recieved a letter from them. I called Larry at the shop in mid-July asking about it and he said they weren't sure what exactly needed to be done at that point and told me to call back in a few weeks. I called him end of July and he said to bring it in. Along with the inspection, they will also give you the R flash. I brought a copy of the service bulletin with me.

Great info, I am due an oil change anyway so I'll give Larry a call and schedule this along with my oil change. Any idea how long it will take for them to do the repair? (minus the oil change of course)

Thanks!

Well, you have this SB to take care of now as well. They told me Friday that they did not have the parts for this one either, but they will do the inspection.

I had the first service done with a state inspection and was out of there in about an hour and a half.

Hey NoTears316 - do you know Raul Estrada? He goes to UTEP, but he's currently doing an internship in Colorado. He was my roomie over the summer when he was doing an internship here in FW...

I was in the field that week, my car was there. Check near the Chaplain's office next time you get a chance. It is green, just dirty right now.

I think I saw you today. I was driving past along Hann and I think I saw you heading down Chaffee or Jeb Stuart around lunch time. I'll keep an eye out. I work in Bldg 5849 at Abernathy Park. I park behind the Bldg if you ever feel like cruising through.

Nope, never heard of him. Of course I'm 33 years old and dont hang with too many college students anymore (they stay out too late :p ). I have spent 8 of the last 9 years in El Paso, so I feel attached to the community, and take pride in the city's sports.

I came out of the PX a week or so ago and a red 8 was parked next to me, I thought it might be you but I had to run back to work so I couldn't wait.

That probably was me driving down Chaffee, I don't always 'see' the people around me when I'm driving so I just didn't see you.

I'm sure we will meet up one day.

Thought I'd knock the dust off the El Paso thread again. As you guys know, it was over 60 degrees today (gotta love El Paso), so I took a ride out to Scenic Drive. Hope you guys like.

Hey,

thanks for the pics, now I know what car to look for on post. I got strakes and the fuel door for xmas, just got them put on.

I'll have to post some pics after I "knock the dust" off my 8 too

Merry Christmas and have a happy new year!
