I cannot divulge my informant but i have been told that finally Mazda has released internationally an upgraded re-flash of the pcm (ecu) to recalibrate air fuel mixtures and resolve the MPG issue and other minor adjustments to our exsisting units ,

As soon as i have more information that i can pass on i will .

Most of the mazda dealers here in Australia will not be aware of this occurence as i believe on ly a handfull of very senior mazdapeople are aware of this and nothing by way of bulletins have been sent out to the dealers as yet .

Finally a solution to some of our concerns , i have other confidentiall information however be patient and soon all will be revealed .

cheers

Dear L&L,

I would think that if there was such a thing to suit both engines, it would be 2 separate reflashes. The PCM would have a totally different calibration in each.

And if such is the case, I suppose there would be a thrid version for the lo power manual. It would have different stuff than the auto. PCM's for auto's have a whole bunch of settings regards shift points, shift firmness etc. Nice to fiddle with an auto if you can get to those settings :) I know some people who have lunched there LS1's trannies that way. (Well, after flogging the sh|t out of it as well on the strip)
