Canzoomer,

I saw on a previous thread that you are considering making the piggyback unit capable of multiple maps to program say Stage 1 & 2 plus specific changes for altitude and humidity. What about forced induction? I know that in about a year I will be putting on a turbo. I will need to have aux spots for the turbo readings as well. Are there any plans? And if you're not ready to put R&D into this yet (perfectly understandable) is your unit upgradeable for this kind of application?

This is a good question... *bump*

We are working on Stage 3, and it will allow you to do this. It's also much "flashier" re fancy hardware in the car. It's also more expensive, of course :( . Stage 1 and 2 are easily upgradable to Stage 3 by just plugging in the extra modules. Pics will be available in due course.

Knowing what I know (insider knowledge ;) , if I had an RX-8 I'd get a Stage 1 right now. I think it will improve the longevity of the exhaust system (the rational) and makes the car a lot more fun. Stage 1 is easy to upgrade to Stage 2 and then Stage 3, including forced induction. The upgrades are doable at home with a PC (easiest with a laptop, of course).

These engineering improvements have been delaying us for the last few weeks (along with suppliers being as slow as us), but full production is in sight now!

Thank you. I will be ordering my Stage 1 within a couple of weeks. I am going to be doing my mods gradually so the system will work with a gradual ECU Stage upgrade. This is the info I was looking for. You guys are awesome! :D

Yes indeed. Some very impressive engineering going on at the 'ol CanZoomer shop.

Just to be clear:
Stage1 and Stage2 are now the **SAME** hardware.
Stage3 is a set of equipment to allow many features, **INCLUDING** choosing multiple maps on the fly.

All versions are now tuneable and upgradable.
Upgrade hardware kit of software and cable costs $75
Upgrade kit as above, plus full tuning software costs $150

I can see a few benefits of going from 1 to 2, then to 3.

I'm leaning more towards 1 to 3 though. 3 will give you 1 for around town ("tame") performance. It also will give you 2 for when you want that kind of performance. It also will give you other maps (long story short). The only downside of going 1 to 3 is the extra $$$ spent at one time. That upgrade will require the exhaust mods for a Stage 2 + the multimap hardware & software for Stage 3.

When it's all done, wouldn't the person who went from 1 to 2 to 3 have spent more than the person who went from 1 to 3 ?

My guess is that they wouldn't have spent more except maybe in shipping charges. The cable to upgrade from your laptop is $75 needed to go from 1-2 or 1-3 and the hardware for mapping out the fuel, air, and timing will be needed to go from 1-3 or 2-3. Seems like it is all the same. But you will be able to get everything at your own pace. I won't be adding a turbo until next year so the extra aux ports and the need for doing my own fuel and timing maps aren't so important until then. Just glad to know that I can stay with Canzoomer products through till the end.
