I few weeks back we had a big snowfall here in Boise. Having to drive my 8 to work in this snow was very scary. (still had the original tires) So before my trip I desided to buy some Toyo Proxes 4 tires. Even with these new tires I was very skiddish about driving in snow. (I did a 180 putting along at 10 mph just a few days before getting new tires)

Well I just got back from the best business trip I've ever been on. The work part wasn't that great but I got to drive my 8 on 1153 miles of Mountain Roads!! The new tires worked GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

The trip started in Boise then off to St. Maries for a day. From St Maries to Sandpoint, back to St. Maries, this is where I had my first encounter with a Deer. The darn thing was standing in the middle of the road (thank god for the 8's awsome brakes). As that deer stood in the road looking at my car I could have sworn I heard "what kind of car is that?". :)

Now from St. Maries to Orifino pretty uneventful driving, saw 3 more deer but they were on the side of the road admiring my 8.

Finaly from Orifino to Nez Perce then back to Boise.

I can't wait to make this same drive during the Summer!!

For those of you in the Boise Area taking 95 north is an awsome drive.

You'll have to let me know when you are up again. Spokane is only about 45 min from Couer d' Alene and I am sure that you went through there going to Sand Point. My wife teaches a class for North Idaho College up in Sand Point as well. We could check out each others 8's and maybe have lunch. Anyway I am glad you got to drive your baby on such a beautiful road trip.

I'm up that way at least 4 times a year. My company has an office up that way and some of us from the Boise office assist the network tech in Sandpoint when he needs it.

I like it when the deer admire my car from a distance. If I see a couple checking my car out, I'll give them a quick honk or two. Just to let em know, I see them checking my car out.

Last time I was up and in, the northern Idaho/Montana area, my wife and I where doing 75ish (The legal limit in Montana.) and we had 3 deer start to run out in front of us. First one made it....second one hesitated and barely made it. 3rd one is a wonder he's still alive. I should have slapped him a good one. :D I probably could have. The dang things just came out of the middle of nowhere! CJ

I had two admiring my 7 on the dump road here in Boise yesterday!
Man, those things can jump! They jumped a 6 ft. fence like it was nothing!

they can jump very high but not very far. lay that fence over at an angle and they wouldn't make it across. but the high jump is phenomonal! i saw one jump an 8 or 9 foot chain link once. and it didn't look like the deer even put much effort into it.
