Anyone ever heard of or looked into the Max Energy Sport Power Programmer? Now that the AP will be discontinued this MIGHT be a decent alternative.
It's suppose to tune your car through a series of questions.. :scratchhe

The programmer reads out your stock calibrations, and programs the proper Hypertech tune in for your calibration.

Would this programmer only work on a stock Rx-8? If the RX-8 has an intake and high flow cat, would this programmer still be suitable? Could the owner get an "optimized" tune for the car by a reputable dyno shop using this programmer?
P.S. While used Cobb AP's are still abundant, I want to keep my options open. The Tirerack/GRM STR MX-5 uses the Hypertech Max Energy Sport, which makes me want to give it a clsoer look...
