Public Map Database?

Hey gang...

Is there a place where people share thier own developed maps with each other?

MM's base maps are locked, understandably so... But, are there any people that have made mods to thier cars, tuned using the Cobb Race Software and posted maps for other to look at?

I have searched here, and don't see a files section or any code, other than data file .CSV screen captures.

Would be nice to compair what others are running with success or where people have failed.

Just a thought.

Thanks.

Unfortunately most that sucessfully tune this platform are tightlipped as they stand to make money from that knowledge. There are a few here that are willing to share, but not nearly enough to actually collect a database and understanding of what works well.

Myself and several others have tried to get such things going, but usually most of the posts are from those not willing to share any directly useful information. It then degrades into epeen fights and posturing before the threads are left to die

The other thing...each car is different enough that posting maps doesn't work very well

...and you need to modify them for your car anyway...you cant take a map made with one version of ATR and use it straight over on another car..you have to re-save it so it can be used

So the thing to do is to learn how to DIY properly..and spend the time figuring it out..or save yourself a lot of grief and pay Jeff or someone to do it for you with some logs

End of Rant

Thanks again...

I am trying to learn, that is why I requested.

I did not want to spend 500 bux just to log a couple trips, send off some CSV files to MM and get a tune back. I am the kind of guy that like to understand how it all works, and if able, produce something that I will be happy with.

One Question:

Does the Access Tuner Race SW pull map info from the downloaded ROM from Mazda ECU that is on my Access Port?

I noticed that the Race "Base Map" that can be saved when you use the program has the "Automatic Transmission" stats, like the RPM limit @ 7500 vs 9000 on the 6 speed.

But for exsample it has A/F ratio tables for gears 5-6, which don't exsist on my car.
Also the following two tables are the same if I compair geasr 3-4 and 5-6 in my case.
A/F table gears 1-2 are quite a bit different, as they should be.

There are also other fields such as "VFAD open RPM" that is not on the Auto as well.

Is this "base map" something I can use as a baseline? or am I loading data on my ecu that is either irrelivant or may mess up the 4 port motor.

Thanks for any input.

:-)
