Ha ha what liers!

Very hard to get water in the engine. If you did it wasn't that much....ah... You didn't drive through 3 ft. of water did you?

Do you have an after market intake?

Usually when this happens it's the electrical connections.

Something electrical is wet. Could be MAF, Coils plug wire all sorts of things.

Back in the old days it was under the distributor caps.

Remember that water on a hot engine creates alot of steam. The steam produces condensation and shorts.

Go TO: your forum thread for the section of the country you live in. Ask the club members for help and ask them for a rotary specialist in your area.

Going thru standing water doesn't flood your engine in the context of excess fuel flooding. There is a [fuel] deflooding procedure and unless you also have very low compression you don't need a new engine.

Thanks to the rotor-housing dissimilar metal construction of our rotary engine it's impossible to seize the engine, so again replacement for that water-flooding reason alone is unnecessary.

It always helps to cite specifics like model year, mileage, typical maintenance performed, etc.

edit: you also get more help not cluttering up the board with multiple posts on the same issue.

edit2: looks like I wasted my time on this one. "The 10% will be with us, always."

Try to explain what you did here, as I'm sure most of us don't really still understand how it could have gotten that much water into the engine unless you thought you'd play 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or something. How deep was the water you tried to go through? Was it this deep?

How much worse was it than this? Draw a line on here and let's see!

Simply put.......even if you had a non-boxed up intake filter on it, rain itself wouldn't really do it.......and I still think the dealer is wrong about a new engine. Probably need to dry everything out as a first step!

You could have pvc from your throttle body into a fucking pool and you would not hydro lock the engine.

Jesus, please bless this kid with the English language and literacy. Please, please Jesus, I beg thee.
