View Full Version : Turbo advice please
icuh8nmy8 12-16-2009, 11:11 PM So ive got the greddy kit in my car and the turbos about to go, and i had my heart set on the mazda maniac upgrade but after hearing all the bad things about him i decided not to go that route. I was never realy happy with the power from the kit. I just want some advice on what i should do? Completly new kit like esmeril or something? Thanks in advance.

heh, i remember you from when I used to live with Harry.... :wavey:
send it to BNR for rebuild/upgrade. otherwise you're gonna be dropping a LOAD of cash with a whole new setup. there just arent a lot of options to replace that turbo with the greddy manifold space restrictions, you'd be replacing everything.
If replacing everything and spending that much cash is acceptable, I'd hit up SpeedForceRacing and talk to them about their kit. They may work with you - ie, let you choose the turbo you want, piping specifics, wastegate/bov stuff, and if i remember you are using the Interceptor? If so cool, Everyone here will reccomend upgrading to the AccessPort - SFR should be willing to discuss the possibility of adapting their kit to allow for draw through MAF setup to support AP tuning...

Well ive been trying to contact you for over a month with no response. Im not ordering from someone who it takes that long to get in touch with.

Interesting. I've received no inquiries since the fall.

I'd like to inquire about your turbo upgrade.

Mawnee 12-17-2009, 02:20 PM Definetly contact Brian@BNR:

Turn around will still probably be a couple of weeks, but the guy knows his stuff and has taken good care of many forums members, including myself. :)
Brettus 12-17-2009, 03:36 PM I'm probably going to get shit about this but :
If going the BNR route - I would suggest the 49lb/min upgrade and not the 60-1 .
It just seems that people with the 60-1 are not getting the whp they should with that turbo . I did hear of a guy (not on the forums) that made 332whp . Till someone proves otherwise I think the turbine might be a limitation with that upgrade .
halimsteven 12-17-2009, 08:07 PM if you have a petience, buy MazdaManiac turbo...use your greddy turbo until it needs to rebuild...while waiting, you start ordering the turbo from MM...
lack of communication is not pointing bad things about the person, but just the service. other than that, the turbo is good, what i heard and a lot of people here have them.
if you dont' have a patience, upgrade them from BNR or RaceRotor...they both are preety good...talk to them, you will get some advice.

\\Konig\\ 12-17-2009, 08:23 PM how much is a brand new greddy turbo (the same one that comes with the greddy kit) alone?
