I have a 4 port automatic, and would like to get the engine and transmission swapped so that i can have the extra hp and tq as well as get away from the automatic transmission.

I know i could have bought a manual but the situation i was in, got hoed.
Know that i have done things to the car, i dont want to have to swap the parts over.
Any help with any information would be helpful.

That swap has been done once, by Rotary Resurrection. Look for his thread. If you really want to do this, get in touch with him. But unless the project itself appeals to you, I agree with Dozer's answer.

do the swap only if you have deep pockets and just "want to try something new"

Yea i did hit up rotary resurection, he never got back to me, but does anyone know how much upside down i will be looking at?
I did just have a new engine put in about 4000 miles ago.
But ima be up there today, so ill let yall know how it goes.

 

I would take it to rotaryresurrection. He does stuff like this for a living and has done it. However, you are going to have to also bring him all the parts - basically an entire car. Then you have to look at how hard it is to swap all the electronics/drivetrain versus swapping your parts to a MT. I'd be hard pressed to come up with a mod list that is more difficult to swap than the entire drivetrain.

I'd say it'll cost X labor (I think he eye balled it at $1k, but that may be an engine rebuild), 5k min for a full parts car (totaled in a rear ender). Then if the motors out of the donor car, do you do a rebuild? Also, you then need to have all the electronics reflashed/reprogrammed. I'd say it's a 6-7k project. If you sold your auto for 10 and bought a mt for 13, you'd be 3k ahead.
