That is a very good price. I got mine for 25K (plus tax) in September when the Mazda rebate was $4K. The only question mark is the rebate amount for November???

that's a phenomenal price. I got mine for $29,400 plus tt&l, minus rebate.

either i could have worked harder, or I the east coast gives better deals than the west, hah.

That's a solid price and about what I would pay. $30k for this car is just not worth it with the resale value being so low.

What dealer was this at?

Killer price. That dealer must be desperate to get rid of that vehicle. I'd buy it if I were you. I'm paying another 1250 for the car I'm buying this weekend.

Great price, another poster in another thread bought his in Cali for $25,000 Out The Door, used Costco auto buying service. I then read up on Costco and sounds like you can usually do better on your own, but worked in his case. I'd buy that over the sport for 25k (i bought sport for 21,750 OTD before hearing of the 25k deals)

Well it seems like it's a very good deal. Im going to go to the dealership tonight or tomarrow morning to purchase the rx8. The only rx8 I ever drove was the r3 is there a big difference in handeling? The dealership is Cook Mazda. And I guess it's time to start looking for mods!!!!

Price "MAY" and should get better on Tuesday of next week, I would imagine the incentive would increase, but you never know. Actually my Mazda dealer called me last nite and told me they were more willing to deal on the R3 now because they were getting a bigger rebate... Could be typical BS and their excuse to me for lowering the price vs we are not as greedy/you aren't as big a pushover as we initially thought but who knows? You could get a better price by waiting, but you could also lose the rebate (doubtful), or the car could be gone (again doubtful)...

I really doubt that the rebate will grow, but it is indeed possible that it will be extended.

The inventory is not moving, and they need to clear out the leftovers. However, they may well move from giving manufacturer to customer incentives and instead go to manufacturer to dealer incentives, you never know. The customer incentives bring people into the dealerships, while the ones to the dealer end up making the prices (after taxes) lower.

I chose to buy early, knowing that I'd pay a bit more, in order to have a better choice from an inventory perspective. The car that I found was a very late arrival (8/29) and only has 32 miles on the Odometer.

Most cars that I looked at had between 120 and 450 miles on them already. I'd prefer to do the break-in on my own personally. Besides, I've read out here that the various break-in procedure's always include low RPMs and no WOT driving for extended periods.

For those reasons, this particular car (also in the blue color that I decided was my favorite in the R3 version) was desireable enough for me to pay the extra $500 in excise tax that will be due (because I own the car on 1/1/10) and store the car over the winter in advance of spring. Not everyone would feel that way.

Im on the fence about upgrading to the R3. Trying to consider other cars with better MPG but I havent test driven anything that I like nearly as much as my 8. On the bright side, Im not afraid to wait to see if the rebate increases for Nov and maybe even Dec. Face it, these cars aren't going anywhere. Thats why Im totally comfortable waiting for a better deal.

I bought my GT in 05 for $26k which levels out to be what the R3 is now....so I say go for it! just keep it stock.... maybe new wheels but dont sell them...

Many members here with SHINKA (copper, black cherry) or 40th Anny should and do keep their rides stock with minimal bolt ons that can easily be taken off....I would do the same with the R3, if you buy a regular RX8 then MOD that BISH out!!
