Porsche Club Driver Skills day 11/1/09

http://www.pnwr.org/calendar07/displ...09&Window=Same

Too early to do a full November thread but we told a couple of the new folks about this event last night. Butters, stepatee, josuar88 we (the collective group of irresponsible 20-30 year old Seattle RX-8 owners) highly recommend this course

If any of you go... I'll volunteer (though I may be on all seasons by then ) so when the open sessions happen, I'll get my 2hrs of free running In general, it's a really good time. It's $55 for the day if you can borrow a helmet or have your own, otherwise they want an additional $30 to rent one of theirs for the day. They do a number of exercises, all aimed at making you a better driver and frankly, it's totally worth it.

Bump. Registration closes Friday, I'm volunteering, I believe there's more volunteer space left as well.

There's an 80% chance of rain and it's supposed to be in the 50's. Top that off with Robert reporting all of the students are first timers and... it's gonna be a bit miserable

Yah, so unless Brad and I meet up on the highway before Tacoma, we'll be at the mall. If there's anyone else coming... I guess we'll see you there? I don't think anyone else is though. I'm bringing my camera, we'll have some pictures. My officemate is coming in his '06 STI... I might convince him to let me take a run in it at the end of the day... should be sweet

Well that was fun. Too bad my officemate couldn't stay for the open session... that's what he gets for dating a model?

I left my camcorder and digi at home. Nick was to busy being "Cone Marshal". Ireland was to busy knocking over cones so I could go pick them back up.

Dave took 2 cellphone camera pics of his car waiting in line at the slalom. It was crazy foggy in the morning, I couldn't see halfway up the slalom for the first 2 groups to come through so we gave radios to the cone workers to call out when they were going on course and coming off.

During the AutoX I was way too busy managing cars and trying to keep track of when someone was on their first time around or their second. It was genuinely hard to do because when someone was really slow, I'd turn around for a minute then look back and see them out there and not be sure which run they were on. I was hoping to take pictures but it just wasn't happening
