Lost of power
Lost of power
I have a 2004 RX8 w/75k miles on it ... Last week I accidentally flooded my car ... Followed the emergency deflooding procedures along with checking out the spark plugs ... When I checked the plugs it seemed that they were starting to corrode ... I think the last time I changed the plugs was when the car was at 25k miles ... In any event my car started and it was just fine ... Today when I was driving my car it suddenly lost power the engine started to bog out ... I couldn't even go past 40 mph ... My check engine light was blinking and the car sounded louder than normal ... My friend said it might be the plugs ... Any suggestion before I spend an arm and a leg at the dealers?
If your exhaust was louder than normal it can mean a couple of things... your CAT is dying or dead, It's guaranteed your car is misfiring too. Also, replace your coils, which usually is 90% of the problems. Or last, the plugs.
sounds like you went into limp mode - got any mates with scanalyser so you can read the codes ?
The louder sound could be anything from a blown out cat to a misfire to a blown apex seal - need more information .
Is the motor idling smoothly ?

wow sorry to say but why being so cheap ? I mean 85 bux for all 4 plugs shipped doesnt sound too be to me, do it every 20-30 K is reasonable.
and you ran your plugs for 50K ?
I'm not surprise your engine bog down, Im not even surprise if you need to replace your engine.
